OK Seattle, it’s election night and the first batch of mayoral results have come in with Harrell (with 62,086 votes) leading Wilson (53,767) by 7.14%. Of course, we know that Seattle frequently sees progressive-leaning swings as the final few days of election results are still counted. But how many votes are still left to be counted? Does Harrell have this election in the bag? How realistic is a Wilson comeback?

Washington’s Secretary of State election results page ( https://results.vote.wa.gov/results/20251104/turnout.html ) gives us a view into this by providing estimated totals of collected ballots yet to be counted. As of tonight (Tue Nov 4), approximately 64,000 ballots are yet uncounted in King County.

In order for Wilson to pull a comeback victory over the next few days, she will need 36,160 (56.5%) of those 64k uncounted votes to be for her.
