70+ years old, nice.
65 years old, often a real entitled piece of work.
55 year olds, tolerable but might be upset they were starting to be shafted by dumb fucking cunts who think Reagan was anything but the stain left from a shart, with no shit left to use for fertilizer, but all don’t realize it
45 year olds - struggling but wanting to keep their heads down and figure out how punk music can translate into solidarity
35 year olds - suicidal, wishing punk was back, and house/grunge/or just fucking Muse was better.
25 - whispering low enough praying that the vultures that are their elders don’t start picking them off for having any of the unalienable rights such as life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness.
15 - keep quiet lads/lasses, that’s not you, that’s my advice. You are being tracked 23 hours a day. Everything you do in life will be recorded and used against you. Anything you say or do to help your fellow populous can and will be used against you in a court of law.

1·7 months agoIt can vary, but in my limited knowledge it usually occurs during periods with rising inflation and/or after over extensions of credit to people who believe they would be able to pay it back because the markets/jobs and such appeared to be doing well for them at the time. Let’s say you loan someone $400,000 for a house, they take it because they want a house and have a steady job. Now you do that 600,000 more times… all is well you are getting paid. Amazon says they are going to lay off 650,000 people because they think they can replace those jobs with automation. Now you have $240,000,000,000 that those people can’t pay you back for, and the job market looks rough, so with demand high and supply low, they can low-ball you on salaries if you can find a job. People trying to get a loan at that point will get hit with higher interest rates because they are worried they won’t get their money back. People hit financial issues and normally they refinance their house to take out equity they have already paid into it, but the interest rate of the refinance would be so high it will wind them up further in financial issues. People are pulling their money out of investments to pay off debts or keep themselves from going under. If new investments don’t come into companies stock buyers don’t make money, so it’s best they invest in something else if they can, so they won’t want to invest, and maybe pull their money out while they can, as the market crashes and shit tons of money are lost across the board.

10·7 months agoIt’s likely that he has been selling much more than buying. And what he is buying is probably just to insulate against a possible collapse. If the market collapsed, houses are always needed. Historically he used a basis of the countries GDP compared to the historical average market value. When it drops below, he buys heavily for long investments, when it gets above, he starts to sell off investments that may be able to plumet.
Sorry if I’m explaining something you are already aware of

Some numbers show burkshire Hathaway sold $130+ billion in stock in 2024, while buying only around $3 billion. I assume he doesn’t like the outlook of this tech craze.

72·10 months agoWhatever I’ll say it. Is she a dangerous sociopath, very likely. Does what she did to the goat fit the definition of the South Dakota law written above, doubt. A judge/ jury would find she thought a gunshot would kill the goat, and shot it. And since it is her story no one can prove she pranced around or did anything other than what she said she did, which was go get another “shell” to end its life. Her compete disregard for other peoples lives/feelings/wants/freedoms make her a shit person who should fear the possibility of her claimed religion being real. But being a shit person isn’t part of that law.
What I don’t understand is why I’ve seen people say she used a pistol and she keeps using the term shell. Her wording seems specific to her using a shotgun to shoot the goat, which should make it harder to miss… But it isn’t a guarantee. But my point being is that if she shot the dog with a pistol she had on her, she would have had to put the pistol away, see the goat, go grab a shotgun from the truck and shoot it at least once, and realize she was out of shells and go back.
She may need to see a specialist to figure out if she should be committed, but I don’t think anyone could prove she broke a law.

21·10 months agoThen report their comment and move on. This form of “consequence” is but harassment that doesn’t cast you in a good light either. We all have bad days, we all get agrivated by things sometimes. If you need someone to vent with you can message me directly if you like, but I would advise taking a step back after reporting the original comment because you may look back on this as them being mean, but regret your actions as well.

7·1 year agoI have some vegetable oil I fried chicken in to make chicken parmesan and since I was lazy the marinara came in a glass bottle that I peeled the label off to keep/reuse. The glue survived the dishwasher yesterday, so I’ll go lay that side in the used vegetable oil and report back in a few hours when I try to get it off.
#excitingfridaynights
Edit update: said glue/jar/oil

Will report back in a bit

11·1 year agoIt means things grown locally will drop in price for one season, profitability will drop on those products. Smaller less profitable farms/ranches will be driven out of the market because you won’t grow 17 acres of a product that you get a $20 total return on for months of labor. Tariffs are a direct shot at small businesses. They go first. Then prices rise to make the larger companies enough profit margin to deem their efforts necessary. Everyone suffers, the consumers, the small businesses, the stores selling them… the towns the small farms/ranches are from.
Yeah infinite energy source was my first thought as well (mug/candle). Might be able to come up with some amazing uses for the blanket as well.
My name is completely crossed off as well, my spouse is now Ho though. Not sure how I’m going to explain to her I am saying it like Santa does.
No, I said 500k to 2 mil were killed. Arguing against lives for the sake of arguing huh?
What riots are you talking about, this discussion is about rioting needing to become more common, not a specific incident that already happened.
That said, the deadliest listed on a quick seaxh was 1947, between 500,000-2,000,000. (Punjab, located between Pakistan and India today)
The tea wasn’t owned by the mom and pop shop neighbors who were also fighting for the same cause. There is a difference to me in a large corporation sustaining damage it will recoupe from insurance and people trying to scrape by and now can’t afford rent until the hopefully if they had insurance, then maybe a check comes in a few months.
Those places if a protestor breaks in during a riot I am fine with being shot at and even killed if need be. Your cause doesn’t give you the right to starve or put in jeopardy other people’s lives who did not choose to riot.

I think the way Lemmy / PieFed are set up you can’t inherently “follow” someone like a feed. PieFed being an article posting site (?) Like Lemmy they support each other right away. So posts on that platform while written in another programming language, still mesh and show.
