That’s a very good point. I was picturing a society where this is common and accompanied by a reduced government role, which would require more community support for people who have greater need of it, but that’s not very realistic.

Well, yes. I’m assuming honor where it shouldn’t be assumed.
I’d love it if you argued with the other bits though, because I know there is a problem with evenly applied corruption, I just don’t see it.
Incredibly bad take incoming:
I don’t have a problem with widespread corruption inherently, but it has to be well understood and broadly applicable (which it generally isn’t).
For the average citizen, it doesn’t make much of a difference if you have to pay a €10 processing fee at town hall to get a copy of an official document or if you give the teller €10 under the table to make sure your document gets processed. In fact, there’s an argument to be made that the bribe fosters the local economy more than the processing fee. The problem occurs when a person who does not expect corruption doesn’t pay the €10 that no one tells them is necessary and doesn’t get their document.
Of course the processing fee, being publicly disclosed, is subject to pushback from the populace as a whole, whereas the bribe can be set based on how badly the individual needs something from the government/how positively the official feels about the individual and can therefore be incredibly unfairly applied, which is obviously worse.

15·16 days agoIt is, go to the user profile and under the three dots, you should see “edit tag.”
Please don’t tag me as technologically aware though, that would be dreadfully misleading.
lol, I thought about the freezer, but our dishwashers smoked meth (I think) in there and it smelled so bad. I guess we didn’t have great ventilation.
Super clean dishes though

10·16 days agoThey never described the meme. Unbelievable.
My sister is local to my dad, so she was coordinating recently with the rest of us further away when he cut his finger off. When she called me, “which finger” was the first question I asked after making sure that he was stable. She hadn’t asked, which was wild to me.
Then, a couple hours later, she called me to tell me that he was out of surgery and aware, etc. She STILL hadn’t asked.
Non dominant pointer, by the way.
I think it’s a matter of degree. If the tag is sharp/stiff/crumpled enough to actually redden or mark your skin or is especially itchy, most people will notice and be bothered. If it’s one of those flat, soft, shiny tags lying correctly, most people don’t notice them.
I don’t always remove mine because that sometimes makes it worse, but I wear my undershirts inside out, which sidesteps the problem. For shirts I wear without undershirts, I’m okay with most of the soft tags at the neck most of the time, but care instructions are sometimes sewn into the side and that drives me fucking nuts.
If you’re extra bad, half of it gets dipped in water first.
I was about to say- try having an accent
She shouldn’t care, but it’s natural. When I got cheated on, I knew it was my partner who was the cause, but a tiny voice in the back of my brain said it was because the other person was better. I looked through their Facebook for a little bit while feeling sad, then pulled myself together and wrote a scathing letter to the cheater explaining exactly that, that I now had insecurities that weren’t there before, and that I wasn’t tearing myself up thinking about them, but the other person.
I guess that’s kind of what carrie underwood did, just publicly and give or take some fantasizing about property damage.

2·26 days agoOh yeah, I definitely think it’s creepy, but I get it. Like asking for someone’s number at their work, it’s something I wouldn’t do but can emotionally understand, as opposed to something like stealing someone’s panties that I can cognitively understand, but I don’t get it get it.

28·30 days agoI’m not really the demographic (30s married bi lady who’s never followed someone for boobs), but I think I get it.
All boobs are great, but being able to interact with the owner of the boobs can make them even better, even if it’s only a theoretical interaction like when following someone on social media

I’d definitely be interested in that, thanks!
