JP name: Yuusha ga Shinda!

The anime is a bit weak IMO, but the intro rocks. And it fits well the macabre yet funny mood of the anime.

I found it so hard to get through the Elfen Lied anime. It was the glacial pace for me more than anything else.

The anime also take off a lot of the context from the manga, and this completely destroyed its message/“theme” about “what means ‘to be a monster’ and ‘to be a human’, when both behave the same?”. That made the violence and gore feel gratuitous.

I still haven’t read the manga, If I am honest with myself I think its because the anime turned me off some much. I should probably add it to my read list.

I can relate to that. The anime doesn’t make stuff up, but it does remove things from context, so they simply look like “gore for the sake of gore”.

If you’re interested Brynhildr in the Darkness (Gokukoku no Brynhildr) is from the same author, and I think that it’s a bit more approachable in this aspect. There’s still some “weird” stuff, though, so be warned.
