Jerboa doesn’t seem to be working for me, it opens every post on Firefox for whatever reason and then I’m jumping between the app and browser.

Honestly I’ve posted more to Lemmy in the last couple days than I have on Reddit in the last 8 years - it’s easier because Lemmy feels like a smaller place… Like announcing yourself to a small room of people vs getting on a soapbox on a crowded main street.
On Reddit I always felt like anything I’d have to say would be completely pointless, because who scrolls down 1000 comments anyhow?
As for posts… The threshold does feel lower here.

With the influx of people looking for a new home, I am sure development of Lemmy will skyrocket.
I’ve been considering making a LES, but one would think just having it integrated into lemmy-ui would be better. The only hiccups are that its code isn’t the easiest to work with or test, and then every change would have to get approval.
I’m mostly a lurker, even on Reddit. For now, I’m watching various communities and trying to figure it out.
Joining new communities like this is an amazing excuse to contribute more! I am/was in the same boat as you, but for a new thing to skyrocket it needs interaction, and that’s what we can do!

Lurkers don’t make content, and that seems to be the only thing Lemmy is light on. The ‘do something’ crowd will be more visible after July 1 when their apps die.
