The Seattle City Council delayed a vote on an initiative, I-137, to fund social housing, citing unspecified legal concerns, on Tuesday. The council’s last-minute maneuver prevents the measure from going onto the ballot in November, when progressive voter turnout is likely to be high. Well, yeah. It’s obviously better to spend even more money in the long-term constantly chasing and harassing the homeless with police. We just don’t have money for solutions, which is why we’re going to spend even more money on non-solutions.
