"RIA Novosti military correspondent Rostislav Zhuravlev was killed during a Ukrainian shelling in a special operation zone. “Today, a military correspondent of RIA Novosti Rostislav Zhuravlev was killed as a result of the shelling of a civilian car that was traveling from the city of Vasilyevka in the Zaporozhye region to the village of Vladimirovka,” acting head of the Zaporozhye region Yevgeny Balitsky wrote on Telegram.

According to the Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a group of journalists with cluster munitions. Four media employees received injuries of varying severity, and they were promptly transferred to field medical institutions."

TASS is unreliable cause Fedipedia says so, lol. All media is inherently biased. It is an important skill to be able to dissect the information being provided to you and ask questions such as why am I being given this information ? And what are the motivations and interests of those publishing the news ?

Simply dismissing news because it is “backed by the russian gov” is not an application of critical thinking but rather the complete opposite.

I would love to live in ignorance of all of the nonsense corporate news that is produced in the west but even from there important information can be gleaned and positions better understood.

What motivations would TASS have to lie about a journalist being killed ? I don’t understand what aspect of this is untrustworthy.

How is wikipedia proof ? It usually perpetuates the view of the US ruling class and intelligence community, doesnt have a good track record on information about foreign countries. Not a quality anybody should be looking for when seeking out reliable information. You see how this can be so easily turned around right ? What exactly do you define “real journalism” as ?

Maybe I want to know what the view of the Russian gov is ? What is wrong with that ?
