Dead Mount Death Play is about a necromancer from a medieval fantasy world reincarnating in modern Japan, basically the reverse of your usual isekais, and it’s really good so far. Also, part 2 just dropped.

ROCM wasn’t a thing when I bought. You need(ed) NVidia for machine learning and other GPGPU stuff

Same for me, had to buy an Alienware laptop with an NVIDIA GPU during my PhD for some GPGPU coding I had to do as CUDA was pretty much the only choice back then and OpenCL was a joke in terms of performance and wasn’t getting much love from GPU manufacturers. But right now, I know for sure I won’t ever buy an NVIDIA GPU again, ROCm works wonderfully well even on an APU (in my case, a Radeon 680M integrated GPU) and it’s also future-proof since you’re almost writing CUDA code so if you ever switch to an NVIDIA GPU again you mostly will just have to replace “hip” with “cuda” in your code + some magic constants (warp length in particular).

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but here’s how I understand it:

Say you have two instances A and B that are federated together, and you have a community C in B.

If you look at C from within B, the subscriber count will give you the number of subscribers from B and will ignore the ones from other instances.

If you look at C@B from within A, you will see this time the number of subscribers who have their accounts on A.

Swiping in order to upvote/downvotes/reply is an awesome feature that definitely stands out.

wefwef.app is perfect and extremely smooth right now and can be installed locally as an app. It’s open-source, it has a GitHub repo for those who want to host their own or want to audit the code. Would be cool if it was available directly as an apk on Play Store, I believe it would be hugely beneficial for Lemmy if it became the “official” app!

I’d say other apps should try to take some hints from wefwef, it does all the things right, is inspired by Apollo and once you use it you won’t miss Reddit at all!

I’m not ashamed either to say that I want a 2nd season merely for the fact that its plot is dumb as hell in a positive way 😂
