Ok I’ve got the wildest related story. Flew domestic Lufthansa from Germany to Paris and they gave out free prepackaged sandwiches kinda like this.

To this day I need to track down that sandwich manufacturer (was some German brand) next time I’m there. It was amazing. Simple ham and cheese on wheat. The cheese was think and velvet soft, airy light bread, and equally thick cuts of lightly salted ham. At the perfect chilled temperature.

Again, all for free on like a 50 minute flight. Easily one of the best airlines out there. Loved riding on their A380s.

God I miss proper sourdough living in SF. It’s the one thing bodegas here in NYC don’t do right. AK Subs in soma SF has the greatest sourdough I’ve ever had, used to live around the corner and literally would order from them 2x a day sometimes. Was so awesome having my own sandwich too. Lmao they knew my caller ID.

California is really massive. On a more fun note, some friends did the snowboard in the morning, surf in the evening trips. It’s not an unusual sight to see a snowboard and surfboard mounted next to each other on a car.
