Thanks to all the responses! It definitely sounds like a decision with many factors to weigh. I think it feels more of a Solid Wood vs LVP, and while I see positives for both, one way of “summarizing” is that there aren’t regrets on solid wood. ugh - maybe the price difference will help me decide!

I made a “cave” under the basement stairs. I completely closed in the normal opening that people make into a closet. Then I cut a hole in the drywall that goes under the stairs. Finally, I installed a whole-wall cabinet, except that ONE of the doors actually opens to the hole, Narnia-style. Kids love it. And me…
in office, used more cabinets to make computer station for my and wife’s PC. Single piece counter all the way. l installed PC towers in 12" cabinets. Ventilation you say? I cut holes in the wall, install 140mm noctuas, and tie then to PC. So when PC turns on, whole cabinet exhausts to basement stairwell behind wall.

Yes, I switch to subscribed. But I subbed to most of the popular channels. Trying to avoid too many political triggers, life is stressful enough!
I’ll admit that I struggled to figure out Mastodon when twitter changed hands. For me it was either too confusing or not worth figuring out. Maybe it was just the nature of it being more about personal posts, so each server was much more different.
I had no such trouble with Lemmy/Beehaw. Drop-in replacement. That said, I don’t think I’m a communist? I’m not a raging capitalist either though? I’m just kinda here.
I’m with you on the cons. I know it’s “work” - but I was friends with my coworkers. Sometimes best friends or “work spouse” status as we would call it! (terminology & person approved by my actual spouse). I absolutely miss being around people.
