Cuteness enjoyer.
Ooh very good! I like the minimalistic sea and the texture on her coat is beautiful. The watercolour texture and colours are so fitting for Ghibli. If I remember correctly they do use watercolours for some of their backgrounds.
Me realizing I will be gin-chan’s age not so far into the future (where did the time go):
Also don’t you dare be single if you are a day older than 25 in anime lol.
Well yea, I would only ever think about vim :)
My computer when I write a recursive function without base case.
You are probably referring to Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou. There are a lot of SOL anime so I got to choose something. Personally I think it is pretty good but not as good as some other anime that I would recommend over it. As well as the fact that Bocchi the Rock has a mostly female cast so I unconsciously selected anime that are similar in that regard. If OP wants to try something with a large male cast this is the only anime I can think of that would be fitting so it’s good that you mention it.
What is similar? Does it need to be a band anime? Does it require social anxiety characters? Just cute girls doing cute things (CGDCT) in general? Have yuri elements?
edit: I personally don’t think that Bocchi the Rock! is super laid back, but if you compare it to action shows it obviously is. If you really want to go the laid back route you can look into the genre Iyashikei (“healing type”) with anime such as Non Non Biyori, Yuru Camp (still have to watch this one so can’t verify personally but is very popular) and Yokohama Kaidaishi Kikou (absolute classic).
Namori sensei has a bunch of these too, where she draws yuru yuri characters into photos.
One of the most comfy characters ever.
Favorite is tough is choose. But I think Hiiragi Tsukasa has the most moe for me.
The anime doesn’t have to be good, it just has to make you interested in the lightnovel, which is where the profits are. With that in mind, the cheaper the anime can be produced the better. This is probably why there are so many shitty isekai and they keep coming.
Konata knows what’s good.
Those little sections are mostly stand-alone pieces to be enjoyed just by themselves. Some of the scenes show small events that happen in the world of the main story, e.g. the cat walking on the street and after that Nano running past. Then later on we see Sasahara go home with Koujiro on the same streets. This is a bit of story telling and world building. Other sections like the rope skipping ones, are just little skits that use characters from the main story. Others like Helvetica Standard are completely disjoint from the main story. Later on you will see little skits and moments with characters never seen before and never to be seen again. Nichijou is a slice of life of which its title reveals it is a slice of life. A big theme is the appreciation of small moments otherwise unnoticed as we go through life. Sometimes that is just what it comes down to I think. Such as the peacefulness of a calm street or the beauty of the countryside. Nichijou also has some advanced language jokes where to western audiences the skit is nonsensical but to the Japanese audience an actual joke is presented. Other times it has a Koan type of vibe, where it is not meant to be understood logically. I really love all these little in between sections. They are unique and add so much extra depth and content to the show. I guess this is turning into just another ramble why Nichijou is so great so I’ll end it here lol.
That is very interesting to hear, thank you. It is also a bit worrying. It seems a mechanism like that would cause a lot of collateral damage.
Acchi Kocchi if you also like moe and SoL.
I saw this panel while flipping through my Japanese Nichijou manga’s. I tried reading them and transcribing as I went but it was still too hard for me. Maybe I should try again sometime soon.
Maybe, I don’t know Peter Pan. But the hat and the wand is a Haruhi reference.
I suck at ball sports, she’d probably beat my ass even though she is so small lol.
