That’s another option. Sometimes there is no valve immediately beside the toilet, sometimes it’s crusty af and won’t turn or seal. This can be quicker.

Once the flapper lifts, it won’t close again until the tank empties completely. If the toilet clogs and you try too many times to flush it down instead of breaking out the plunger right away; sometimes the water can’t overflow out of the bowl fast enough to let the tank drain fully, so it just endlessly flows. Doesn’t happen to all toilets, but it’s still good to know when your toilet full of turds just won’t stop dumping water on the floor.

In my area when you see something like that, you can call the utilities emergency line and they’ll send someone to fix it immediately. (even for low voltage/fiber data lines, just to stop the calls about it)

Around here, particularly in school; it’s drilled into your head that anything hanging from a powerline is an extreme hazard that needs to be addressed immediately. Maybe it’s dead, maybe it was never ‘live’; It’s up to the utility to determine that. You’re instructed to cordon off the area, keep people away, and call emergency services asap. (preferably their direct line, but 911 will handle it too)

If it was dangling down for 6mo, why did nobody call the utility company?

Sometimes you recommend games to your friends because they’re bad games. There’s even content creators that explicitly look for ‘games so bad they’re good’.

Some games are so poorly designed or executed that the bugs and discontinuity become the fun, instead of just playing through them as designed. Horror games in particular just become funny when done poorly.
