Lol - in the days of dial-up, even being on a local server wasn’t immune to shit lag.
Just an Aussie tech guy - home automation, ESP gadgets, networking. Also love my camping and 4WDing.

Playing Quake over dial-up on one of the first ISP-owned Quake servers in Australia.
Fun times…
Uninstalled the app, blackholed the domain in my Pi-hole servers, and removed the domain from my web search results on my SearxNG server. I use Wireguard from my phone when out and about, so I’m always usnig Pi-hole and SearxNG.
Yep - the latest release supports both 0.18.x and 0.17.x. I’ve been running it for the past few releases over the last couple of days and I really like it.
BTW, it’s been rebranded as Liftoff.
Ah, even better. Thanks.
Gotcha - thanks for that. This is going to be a potential pitfall for the uninitiated. I can see inexperienced admins easily allowing others to store all manner of bad shit on their servers without realising.
Lol - that’s exactly what I’m worried about! 🤣
Ah - cool. I wondered at the difference there. So removing them bans that community, whereas purge just erases them from local cache/storage?
Whatever that was, it’s not loading.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The fact that you use prayer for a social problem already tells me how wrecked your brain is.
It’s worth a shot. If they decide to do something with it, you can guarantee it’ll be a fair, impartial, and brutal look at the facts. And that it’ll be fucking entertaining!
Quite enjoyable and, since seeing the sub.rehab site someone else posted, even better. I’ve found quite a few subs that have made their way over to Lemmy.
My only gripe is that quite a few have made their way to lemmy.world, and it’s buckling under pressure. I can’t sign up on that instance, nor can I remotely sub to communities from my own instance. Once that’s resolved, I think I’ll definitely be happy to call Lemmy my new home.
Can’t go back anyway - deleted my Reddit account.
Yep - great feature. I’ve been excluding Facebook and the other socials for a while now.
