The instance is dedicated to politics. Authoritarian politics at that. The top level domain .ml belongs to Mali. They aren’t fans of Mali. They use it because it has similar initials to Marxist Leninism. Which is the ideology that worship. The administrators run the instance like a vanguard protectorate. Going against dogma will instantly get you banned from many communities. And depending on how inadequate the admins are feeling, even the instance.

This can be a problem to grow a community in many levels. Visitors simply losing access for pushing back against bad logic etc. Many instances block the ML instances for that reason. And even on those that don’t like world plenty block it at the user level like myself. I’ve tried to engage in good faith but it just isn’t there. And have had friends banned by paranoid administrators. Simply because we were being the same NAT, and the thought it was some ineffective attempt to brigade. With what, 2 accounts? It’s just a bad time dealing with ideologues.

Just a friendly suggestion. Leninism isn’t communism. Don’t give them what they want by referring to them as communist. It gives actual communist/anarchist even more undeserved grief and misinformation to counter.

Leninism often referred to as ML is an authoritarian ideology. Which is a socialist in name only. They will gladly sacrifice actual socialism to protect the ruling Vanguard ala the tankies. Claiming their ideology is to facilitate building an economy that can then somehow transition to communism. They have no outline or mechanism for this to happen. In fact they would kill most anyone who tried. As those people would be a threat to the Vanguard.

Communism is a classless stateless society. A Society with a separate Vanguard party has classes. And authoritarian state is not stateless. Therefore they are not communist no matter how much they use the term. You are spot on with everything else though.

I like Adam Savage. I watch Adam Savage. However, be careful putting anyone on a pedestal. The claims were settled out of court which doesn’t mean anything either way. And I think all of us feeling like we have more familiarity with Adam himself would definitely rather side with him and his version of things. But that’s just bias at this point.

Absolutely. Though even calling them in Arco capitalist is still to generous and a blight to the term anarchist. (I’ve met a few anarchists that were too idealistic and unreasonable for their own good. But they are generally pretty chill, reasonable people otherwise.) They are no true libertarians. Actual libertarians push not just for freedom from things like government. But also the freedom for everyone in society to be able to do the things they desire. One without the other is not a libertarian.

Yes, when it comes to the axis from authoritarian to anarchist. Things all tend to narrow in to a single point at either end. In regards to authoritarians, it’s all about the hierarchy and holding power for themselves. They don’t give a shit what form of government sits under that. When it comes to anarchists and libertarians, no government other than a largely flat form of socialism is acceptable. Simply because they are focused on freedoms both individual and social. And large monolithic hierarchies tend to get in the way of that.

And when I use the term libertarian I of course mean actual libertarians. Not temporarily embarrassed Republicans, or teenage capitalists. The easiest test to find out whether someone might accidentally be a libertarian or not. Is to find out if they belong to the Libertarian party, or ever plan to vote for their candidates. No one who would ever do that could ever be a libertarian lol
