I feel you friend, I grew up with the public education in a red area and I didn’t know it was a thing until it was a made a federal holiday (at which point I did research to learn more about it)

I’d say the most common thing I’ve learned since my schoolyard days (20 years ago) is that my school failed me and many other kids. (I’ll never forget when our history teacher was portraying ‘Manifest Destiny’ as a GOOD thing, I got sent to the office because I pushed back on that)

Unfortunately I’ve had to put it on the back-burner due to some unforeseen medical bills I’m about to receive.

So ideally in a year-looks at out of pocket maximum-or so I’ll be looking again.

That’ll help, just be sure to pull the batteries out often. Especially if storing it. It’s a nightmare cleaning the corrosion out if they get forgotten for awhile. I’ve had to do it twice… on the same camera… sometimes it takes a few tries to learn a lesson lol

If you plan to use it and you can afford it, sure go for it.

EDIT: Also I’m not sure what kind of batteries it has but be aware that the older it is the more likely those batteries are to be difficult to find but also more likely to be not great condition from hello. Unless it takes some kind of disposable battery, in which case you’re likely fine. Or if you have the confidence AND skills to make a new battery for it if need be.
