Not language directly, but rather force of habit.
It sounds wrong to you because you grew up saying it another way.
There is no one way that objectively makes more sense than the other, each language simply has its own habits. If everyone in Germany said “drei Punkt eins vier”, it wouldn’t sound awful to you at all.
Firefox users will do all that and then wonder why Google is Mozilla’s sole source of income.
Twitter users when a wholesome content creator exists:
But you didn’t replace the proprietary bootloader, did you?
Are you dumb because the device you’re on uses proprietary firmware?
Sounds like there weren’t many people sticking around after the open beta
As in, it’s serious when a counterpoint can be refuted, and it’s satire when it can’t?
I’d just like to interject for a moment. What you’re refering to as Linux, …
The Linux community can be very aggressive at times to the point of being insufferable, which is putting people off trying Linux.
Do you realize that the post you linked is 2 years old and the slur filter is no longer populated by default?
In all honesty, any sort of picking or choosing will turn off casual users. Ideally there’d be a button that automatically redirects you to the sign-up page of a random smaller trusted instance.

Who are you to decide what does and does not belong on Linux?
Most Linux users on the internet are elitists.
Not much more to take away from that comment. It’s essentially differentiating between “casual Linux users” and “real Linux users”.
So if I can prove I’ve been duzing everyone my whole life, I can legally duz everyone?
Some people arguably need to be shocked like this before they become aware in the first place.
I chose to host my own instance for my community because I wanted to be independent from any other instances’ administration, federation decisions or any sorts of politics.
Right now I’m paying for it out of my own pocket, but I’m working towards setting up a donation flow.

I just want to own stuff. I wanna pay for the series and music I like once and then have them forever. The problem with subscription gated media is that the subscription will eventually go away, and then so will the media. You will have paid hundreds over multiple years for it, but you will have nothing of it once it shuts down.
By now my GOG library has far exceeded my Steam library in size. I was surprised by how many games on my Steam wishlist are also on GOG.
