There was a point where the people in the cross section between smart enough to actually pull shit off but still dumb enough to do said dumb shit. It’s not nostalgia, it’s just the site’s userbase has changed quite a bit. Like how the install Gentoo meme slowly disappeared from /g/ as population of the site actually became too stupid to install Gentoo. These are places that used to have full wikis people would regularly maintain to tell people about the board culture and common knowledge, the people who actually added to the feeling of community are gone.

The communities on the site are objectively shittier and less built than they were a decade ago. It was like a slower version of the Reddit burn. There’s been a slow shift of these sorts of people to discord and other similar platforms that leaves 4chan a completely different community pretending to be the “original”.

He will not divide us wouldn’t happen on current 4chan. Certainly stupid and immature trolling, but there was just so much there that it’s impossible not to be entertained by it.

For sure, their hatred for fan games pisses me off. Nintendo is far from perfect. I was so sad when AM2R got shut down, it was a nearly perfect project. They’ve also gone after certain popular Pokemon ROM hacks like Flora Skies. Most of it has been undeniably shitty.

However I will defend some of their copyright bs. I think it’s reasonable to ban posting footage of certain things in the game as long as it’s made clear. Nintendo games are all about discovery, the shock awe. They were bitches about Super Mario Odyssey ending footage when the game first released and I’m glad they did.

I understand, we all walk different paths, I find it interesting to hear what other people believe and experience as long as it stays casual. I’ve done a few psychedelics and a lot of crazy ass poly mixes, but still haven’t experienced ego death. I’m starting to think maybe I don’t have an identity to actually forget about. Even when I kholed on 2 tabs I was still who I was.

What do you think of the DOx family? Been curious about them for a while, but haven’t gone out of my way to look for them because I have mixed results with amphetamines. Anything you’d compare it to?

Nintendo hasn’t been flawless, but they’re the prime example that just selling a really good product is enough to make it. They have live services and mobile games, but I’ve spoken to people. Pokemon Legends Arceus and Zelda have sold a metric fuck ton of switches. Even Mario Odyssey is a great example of this. Sony also seems to kind of understand this, with really great single player games. Games as a service seems to be the entire Xbox brand right now with gamepass

Yeah, gotta say my time doing psychedelics was life-changing. I had been exiting that anti-sjw phase of my life for a while, but smoking weed made me chill the fuck out and psychedelics made me internalize the chilling the fuck out long term.

Wouldn’t say they made me an atheist. I’ve made some bad decisions with drugs and have had a near death experience with the full psychedelic release. It’s VERY similar to DMT and whippets. They’re extremely creepy, you realize you’re dead and come to terms with it within 15 minutes of real time. The benevolence of most mammals having that final 15 minutes even though at that point you’re dead, makes me believe there’s something or someone out there that serves as a grand architect. It’s the only way I can personally rationalize my brain doing THAT a few times.
