If I set my winter evening thermostat to 14C my wife would have my head on a spike in the front lawn. Police be damned.
We keep it at 22C as a compromise during the day and 19 at night (since we sleep better in the cold).

If you post a hyperlink on Reddit to Lemmy, it will be autoremoved.
Try it now
You def don’t need to be super tech savvy here. Just learn as things come! That’s how I learned and now I’m a big computer boi with Linuxes under each armpit.
It isn’t run by them since the platform is open source. They run Lemmy.ml but other instances are free of their influence.
This is how every website on the internet works. It’s why they say everything is permanent on the internet.
Probably better to just cut to the chase and say he’s larping as a public washroom stall.
People taking the voting system so seriously. On Reddit people got offended by being downvoted. Sometimes people downvote just because it’s sitting at a low number.
I’d like to be able to load a user profile and see their comments and posts (like how it is on desktop).
I second this. I am subscribed to a big list of communities but I can’t see a list of them and pick and choose them.
I want the ability to pick and choose from subscriptions
It is the users who provide value to these platforms. If you like it here, provide value and contribute! Posts, comments, create a hobby community that you want (that doesn’t exist here yet pls).
Love that for us.
I am here for tasty rumps yes
Yes it’s decentralized but that’s about as similar it is to BTC 😆
Every Reddit AMA and most AMAs end up like this. They don’t seem to understand the concept of the anything part…
Reddit is one website where everything lives. The website is made of many different parts that all run on computers that are owned/controlled by Reddit.
Lemmy is multiple sites where everything lives. Lemmy is made of many different parts that are run on different computers by different people.
These parts all speak the same language so for someone using Lemmy, it feels like it’s all just one website.
Nobody cares if you leave. Don’t waste your time with a goodbye. Just move on :)
If you load the front page of Reddit without being logged in, you get a location and cookie-specific front page. It’s kind of messed up to me.
Accounts are meaningless. Karma and upvotes are just buttons. They only hold meaning if you intentionally assign meaning to them. Just download the photos you’ve posted if you don’t have copies and be free of assigning real material qualities to fictional concepts, like some transient code that says your account is 6 years old with 1.6million karma.
My instance never required an email. Try tempmail.
I was riding my bike and all of a sudden a storm rolled in. I was getting close to my house but I started to feel the air get really fuzzy and the hairs on my arms started standing up. The air smelled like ozone and things really didn’t feel right.
I immediately stopped and got off my bike and laid down. Lightning hit a post near me instead.
