I hated public bathrooms as a kid (still kinda do but a bit less so), so I regularly went 12+ hours without.

Gathering the data in one easily accessible spot is still doxxing. Most doxxing info is just gathered through publically available data. Often harder to connect than just going through someones post history, but that is still easily on the side of morally fucked up.
So true we should ban everything that someone finds slightly creepy, even if it hurts absolutely no one and is clearly a fairly common thing. We should especially put it on the same level as doing things that irreparably ruin lives!
Yaoi is just gay anime/manga stories (including a lot of porn). Usually in a specific style, with archtypes of men. Traditionally more female-targeted.
Brain was in left to right mode and I just thought it’s kinda neat that this makes sense when read in either direction

The dairy herd seems to be about beef from a dairy herd. So still meat, but offset by the fact that milk is produced as well. Not sure how they calculate it, nor have I ever seen beef labelled as that (…granted I also haven’t bought any in years), but it makes sense.

This just seems like a pet with a byproduct to me but maybe someone knows more about the effects of breeding for egg laying on chicken quality of life

It’s because of the major webnovel website having exactly that issue of only the title to go off. Lots of LNs are then based on/republished from webnovels and I guess from there it started propagating a bit to other media. Though the VN mentioned in the title seems to be a case of an extended rerelease, the 2 years older original didn’t have the long subtitle. (https://vndb.org/v4857 nsfw text duh)
I am reminded of that one time we went to lunch with one of our scrum masters and he actually said “why does linux even still exist anymore”.
I didn’t even get into all of that i just told him i switched my home pc to linux a few months ago lol

51·6 months agoPer hour traveled makes the most sense imo, otherwise you bias towards modes of transport used for short trips instead since they spend less time in danger.

7·7 months agoIt’s the insane price tag of it (given that it’s a car) combined with the fact that beyond the usual evil ceo shit he’s politically active and manipulating public discourse in favor of fascism.
Because of the community, and not knowing what hinge is, I assumed hinge must be a lesbian dating/hookup app and the meme is 2 bi amab people realize theyre so they see the other again on the other app lol
I’ll ignore how dumb the rest of this take is but she did bring her own private security. Her own security guy is the one who got the perpetrator off of her, while event security did nothing and also failed at securing the meet and greet properly in the first place.
In general con security seems to be terrible almost across the board. Absolutely not equipped for how big internet personalities have gotten, it’s mostly in “we’re just a bunch of nerds having our niche event” mode even for events where that’s decidedly no longer the case. And for twitchcon that’s not even the tiniest bit of an excuse since it’s organized by one of the largest tech companies in the world.
That line in particular isn’t an ideology, it’s a fact. Committing murder is illegal, but if I want to, I can still murder someone. More generally, systems can be put into place to prevent behaviour, but anyone can still try to get around them.
(I’m not a full on anarchist since it doesn’t seem practical but I do agree with many of the ideals.)
It really isn’t, it’s the scientific term for a feature in a whole bunch of animals…
Like holy shit context matters, and I don’t mean that in a “it’s fine if it’s not meant as an insult” way, because people have a right to ask to not be referred to a certain way regardless of intent.
But also the tumblr links ask me to log in so I can’t tell if they would reveal this as sarcasm or they have an actually convincing argument.
It’s kind of the other way around, we’ve always had AI, it used to just basically mean a computer making some decision based on data. Like a thermostat changing the heating in response to a temperature change.
Then we got LLMs and because they are good at pretending to have complex reasoning ability, AI as a term started to always mean “computer with near human level intelligence” which of course they are absolutely not.
It’s insane to me how a scene from one of the most cute and wholesome things I’ve watched sparks that reaction lol
It’s always projection isn’t it
It does seem sensible to require some proof of some set time of hrt for trans athletes in top level competition, and that’s about it. Once you’ve been on E for a while all studies I’m aware of show there really isn’t any inherent advantage to being AMAB.
And for any lower competition levels it doesn’t really matter anyway since you can likely find cis women that are better than the men anyway, so who cares if some trans girl has some physical advantage while she waits for hrt to start or whatever.
Yea I think if my parents did this I’d instantly have lost all trust in them after it came off (well at least if they didnt tell me right after that they were joking). I never was quite that sensitive to dirt on me, but in general what apparently worked best is just explaining the why, which is probably pretty common for autistic kids.
Anyway I just wanted to say as someone whos also on the spectrum I appreciate you actually respecting your sons issues as valid instead of thinking the reaction is unreasonable and he should suck it up, which is sadly all too common.
(Which isn’t to say that the panel isn’t funny, messing with kids a bit is totally fine, just need to know them well enough to not actually hurt them. Same as adults really.)
For gender dysphoria there have been studies suggesting that prenatal hormone exposure plays a role. Many also experience dysphoria specifically about their genitals, so it’s likely about more than just social gender constructs (probably also depends on the individual though), with at least some contributing factors already decided at birth.
But yea, both gender and sexuality are very complex and there are bound to be environmental factors for both.
