Update - it’s working and my mood/focus are much improved!
Things are hard right now. Father’s Day is always rough. Taking summer term organic chemistry while working full-time is more than I can manage well. It doesn’t help that I sped through gen chem 2 in 6 weeks just prior to this.
I’m super burnt out and I don’t have a lot to show for the past sprint at work plus my first midterm is on Friday. This weekend was supposed to be productive but my brain has been on strike.
I did get some exercise in today and it did help a little but I’m nowhere near the capacity required.
I’m very grateful for my life and opportunities afforded to me and I really shouldn’t be complaining about relative non-issues but 🤷♂️
This resonates in my bones.
sigh It’s 100% because I fell off the bandwagon of basic well-being tasks again. Thanks for giving me the energy to start again!
💯 I’ve never understood how it’s a bad thing to be kind to people.
Not particularly, since the newness has brought all this warmth, optimism, and friendliness. Kind of like welcome weeks at universities - not necessarily the content one is here for, but it’s a nice in-between to make friends.
If you’re into learning about history and inner workings of retro electrical components, Fran Blanche has a great channel on YouTube! Personally, the nixie tubes and other retro displays/indicators are my favorite.
Not sure what “normie” and “ready” mean, but I sure do hope there will be neat places to share and discuss ideas.
Personally, it’s nice to be getting news of Reddit without giving them any traffic. It’ll be old news eventually and I’m not a huge fan of shutting down natural discussion.
If having a grand old time on vacation from negativity and bigotry makes me a snowflake, I’ll be a snowflake. Beehaw is the bee’s knees thus far.
Ah, I’m still getting used to the fediverse thing. On Beehaw, there’s no downvote button.
It’s a really nice vibe so far! I wonder if the lack of downvoting threat makes it easier to share ideas.
As a neurodivergent person of trans experience, online socializing is critical for safely recharging my social needs. This seems like a good refuge from the plague of corporate interests at the moment. I’m excited to explore and enthuse with everyone :)
