  • Totally. People are too busy noticing the bigger issues and completely skip over the good aspects. They are there, else I’d not keep playing it for so many hours. It’s sad that we can’t talk positive about the game without getting hated at.

It’s the same as it was with Cyberpunk2077, I could play it really well on my then new PC with little bugs. Even when you named the positive things, no one was listening. It was an amazing game then, I wonder how it’s with DLC and 2.0 update, which I’ve yet to play.

That said. There are a ton of bugs in Starfield and if that’s what values most to you, then it’s justified to not like the game.

  • My personal biggest disappointment is the repeating point of interest. Yesterday I was on two planets and both had, even on the same planet itself, three times the same mine shaft, twice the same outpost, twice the same hole in the ground, with even mobs and ore placed on the same spots.

Seriously, this should never happen under any circumstances. It was the first time in the game I kind of felt the negative grow. While I still enjoy the rest.

That said, it’s also true that the game is average in many aspects, which is enough to be enjoyable for me but not others.

In time of climate change you don’t want to own a forest, unless you own a fire department, an insekt repellent company and a water plant to water them when there’s a drought. Pump and dump is the way to go. Buy two table, store one on top of each other and sell it when inflation doubled it’s price, so basically 6 months.

  • Thanks to AI a lot will change. People won’t longer feel as alone, as they can talk to a live like bot whenever they need. We can talk to deceased relatives, that we recorded, as if they’d still be alive.

AI has found genetical, chemical and other biological combinations we can’t imagine yet. Devices will monitor our heath, stress and environment and counter act automatically, making people happier, healthier and younger than they we could ever imagine. Most new diseases can be cured or immunized against incredible quickly before a large population is effected. At least in the western world this won’t be unaffordable expensive anymore.

A lot of mathematical issues have been solved, creating advanced machines that create even more advanced machines. We’ll have unlimited energy through nuclear fusion. Quantum computing is becoming mainstream as we managed to make them portable in a first.

Genetical crops have solved most food issues and while we probably still suck at distributing it properly. The environment is still dirty and some countries even still throw their trash into the ocean, the overall planet is much cleaner than ever, as we found ways to clean up the air and parts of the ocean.

The world moved closer together to combat AI produced fake news and created some world news like corporation, to combat it with real journalism and a lot of transparency. Creating an overall more healthy and less propaganda and clickbait driven information portal, people started to mostly trust in in desperation of not losing track of what’s real and what’s AI written.

And in a last part, AI generated videos and images of NSFW content have desensitized people so much that the whole gossip and media outrage about it has silenced. America is still trying to censor nipples though.

  • You cannot control what someone does or doesn’t believe but you can teach ways to deal with an abundance of information and political agendas.

To teach a person to correctly look behind the curtain without falling into conspiracy is the greatest gift. My parents failed to do so because they hated discussing topics in a neutral way. They also knew nothing about philosophy or propaganda.

Same way parents can teach stoic wisdom without raising an emotionless kid. Same way we can teach morals and responsibilities without the need of any religion.

I would summarize that parents just should be parents. Kids mirror parents and being calm and focused is so important. My parents were and are always angry and this got imprinted in my subconsciousness, which sucks. (Bully target) Thankful most people grow up fast school age.

For example last weekend I talked to my cousin about some good news sites, that are as unbiased as possible. (In Germany we thankfully have independent press). I think it’s important to grow up not drifting in desperation of “all news fake. Voting doesn’t matter”, it makes one feel helpless and thats the last thing a kid should have to endure.

Understanding how to identify wrong information, as the fake news they are, with examples and exposition is so important.

  • Aside of people probably being a few years older. Less bots and astroturfing and I bet most people who moved to Lemmy are not your average mainstream user, usually more informed than average. It’s easier to talk to calm people instead of the “whoosh I got you buddy” person. With fewer user the chance to get heard and not drowned by meme and joke replies is also much higher. But when more user join this likely changes.
