Reading some of his latest posts, it looks like he was tagged over here, didn’t realise it, and a bunch of cross-platform weirdness went on. He’s not too happy about it, so maybe he might not be as on board as I thought.

It’d be cool to see Technology Connections. He’s pretty active on Mastodon, I’ve seen him pop up in a thread here via there.
Also Louis Rossmann. He does AMAs like every other day on YouTube, he might be open to checking out another platform.

Wait, is hot water drinkable? I’m Canadian, but my dad is British and taught me never to drink hot water from the tap. I won’t even use it for cooking.
I’ve always figured its because its sitting around in an old tank for god knows how long, and cold water comes straight from the source.
Generally its a good idea to buy the cheapest gear possible when getting into a new hobby. That way if you lose interest there’s not a lot lost, if you keep going you’ll know what to appreciate when the time comes to upgrade.

I made my own website with Microsoft Frontpage. Complete with “under construction” gifs and a visitor counter. I remember constantly refreshing to see if the visitor counter went up. It only ever did when I visited it.
Used to have a ton of fun with Frontpage, used to make simple games and stuff with it. I think I still have some saved on floppy disks.
I love Lemmy, but I feel like people are overestimating the ability of the platform. Stability and usability issues aside, there’s the question of why would John Oliver come here? We don’t have any history of celebrity AMAs, and highest estimates of our userbase puts us at maybe 1% of reddit, or 1 million users. For comparison’s sake Ashens has 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube, do you think he could suddenly decide to do interviews and have the pull to get someone like John Oliver?
I think reaching out to Christian Selig or Louis Rossmann as other commenters suggested is more realistic, and would probably be a better experience for everyone involved.

Not inherently a problem no, but the one they were using was wireless, and apparently reviews were full of connectivity issues. You’d think they’d pick something proven and reliable, like an official wired Xbox controller.
