Please, instead of more satirising toxic masculinity, can we have some more depictions of positive masculinity in lead roles like Aragorn from LotR?

Also, please feel free to list some good examples of positive masculinity in replies below because I and others I know could benefit from seeing more of that.

As much as I hate that this child will have to suffer, I hope that parent watches that sweet little innocent life be squeezed out by all of the horrific and completely preventable diseases that the unfeeling and indifferent natural world has to offer as it shrieks into the night with a scream of pain, agony, and suffering that cuts so deep into the lizard brain of a mammal when it’s young is in distress.

And I hope those screams echo in that parent’s psyche for the rest of their miserable existence until they’re on their own death bed and as they draw their last death rattle where no post-rationalisation can save them from the death-throw lucid state that they killed their own child and will suffer for eternity in whatever hell their religion has told them they’ve booked the express pass to.

Where I will be greeting them with a wicked grin and a fresh welcoming hot poker.

Or someone sees the obvious medical neglect and gets that child appropriately innoculated and it grows up for a happy and fulfilled life away from these evolutionary dead-ends.

At this point I’m happy with either outcome.

  • 100% this.

The question one asks one’s self shouldn’t be “am I manly enough?”

It should be “what kind of man do I want to be?”

Do you want your body to look a certain way? Then work towards it though diet, exercise, or gender affirming care (everything from hair loss treatment, hair removal, weight loss surgery, hormones etc.)

What style of clothes make you feel comfortable and confident? Wear them.

What attitude and personality feels being true to yourself and how you want to treat others? Work on those behaviours through small actions you can take every day.

What kind of people do you want to be surrounded by and emulate? Find those people and hang out with them.

Introspection is one of the hardest things individuals can do, it’s work, it can be a big project.

But getting an idea of the identity you feel would be the best version of the person you want to be is the first step.

The next step is to ask the question “what would a person who _______ do?”

Then make a note of the actions you are about to take and ask “Would a ______ person do that?”

Every action you take that the ideal person who fits that identity would take is a vote for you being that person.

Keep it up sustainably and before you even realise it, you’ll become that person.
