I do think this is well done as an owl themed outfit.

The best bird/lady character I can think of is Money from One Piece.

She is a good balance of both bird and lady. She got her birdy bits as prosthetics, so that covers the distinctly human features.

I’m not sure I can’t think of another character that gets the proper bird legs, what that third leg joint, the tarsus. Feet are a bit off, as a bird of prey should have 2 always forward facing toes, one always backwards, and an outside one like a thumb that is normally back, especially in attack mode, to have a 2+2 arrangement. The feet are one of the key things that make raptors extra special.

We can’t see if she has just bird legs or if she got the full bird pelvis.

Also, owl feathers have hot pink highlights in UV light that we aren’t quite sure the function of. If we’re talking hybrid, perhaps some of that could be visible.

There is also a lot of anatomical structures to consider when talking functional wings. Musculature, anchor points, etc.

I just feel there is a lot of untapped potential if we’re talking owl ladies. There are many creative avenues I don’t think have been explored.

It’s like having all Judy Hoppses and no Mirko.

She is definitely more lady owl than owl lady.

I should clarify… I myself do not get the puns, moreso they are quickly searchable, unlike things like puns about kanji or cultural references.

I suppose Nokotan wins by default for me. Everything else I’ve watched feels like slow parts of things I’ve already read the manga for.

It’s fun, the songs are good, and I don’t have to work too hard to get the puns.

I enjoyed Helck in a similar manner to Frieren.

Ascendance of a Bookworm I saw was recommended as well, and I’ll second that one.

If you meant magical as in fascinating, not literal magic, Golden Kamuy is one of my favs. It’s a historical fiction adventure with lots of hilarious gags. You learn, you laugh, you get lots of adventure. Does have some some gross parts as it’s war-adjacent, but it’s largely an adventure comedy. One of my top anime/manga, and i didn’t see enough people talk about it.

I had to go read what even happened between leaving Treasure Island and the final arc. It just went too fast.

They just seemed in a hurry to build that thing to go find Why Man everything else fell to the side.

That was my big disappointment with it overall. In the beginning they would go over actual science of chemicals and minerals and food, but then they just start whipping out phones and machines. It was still fun, but the science got to be almost fantasy with everyone’s special abilities.

The manga was good and the anime seemed to have a passionate following, I have know clue why they just decided to flush the whole thing down the toilet.

Read the manga but not caught up on the current season of the anime to know where they left off.

I felt the manga was already rushed once they reach the Americas. Very curious how they’re going to do this! 🤔

Also, if you have not tried actual wool socks yet, check those out too. I find wool has the amazing ability to hold in your warmth, but it breathes the right amount that you never got too hot and start to get sweaty. I’ve switched to wool blankets in the winter for my bed too. A nice percale sheet and then 2 milsurp type wool blankets is lighter than my old comforter, but it feels just as warm and isn’t too heavy or hot that I can’t get out of bed in the morning.

Long Johns or Under Armor calls them leggings or base layer pants now.

I’ve worn them when working outside all day in the winter and they’ve been a big hit for girlfriends’ Christmas presents in the past. If you tend to get cold, there the gift you never knew you needed.

They come in a variety of insulation levels, so you can get ones to take the chill off or to get nice and toasty.

That was much better looking than I ever would have imagined.

The characters look really darn close to the originals, and they look to have made a real life Ushiyama not look ridiculous with that hanpen forehead.

This is one of my favorite properties, so I am cautiously optimistic, though I’m curious how they will handle some of the humor.
