balerion@beehaw.orgto Chat@beehaw.org•What is your process for belief formation?English12·2 years agoHa. As if there’s a process. I just stumble across a hill one day and realizing I’m willing to die on it.
balerion@beehaw.orgto Chat@beehaw.org•I crave mental lint. What are some interesting facts that the hivemind (you) have stored away?English6·2 years agodamn, they really are teaching CRT to elementary schoolers
balerion@beehaw.orgto asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Will you stay at Lemmy and the Fediverse, if Reddit steps back?English3·2 years agoI’m probably going to keep using both regardless, though I may cut back significantly on my reddit use.
Not a subscriber yet, but I might become one after I finish Fantasy High.
balerion@beehaw.orgOPto Chat@beehaw.org•Random opinion I needed to tell the world: It's not weird or bad that kids want to grow up to be influencers.English5·2 years agoSure, but that’s true of any job. If everyone were a doctor, society would fall apart. That doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with wanting to be a doctor, or even with a significant portion of the populace being doctors.
balerion@beehaw.orgto Chat@beehaw.org•Something I WONT miss from Reddit/other social mediasEnglish10·2 years agoI’ve briefly considered setting up a horny instance, but a) I don’t think I have the tech know-how for that, and b) moderation for porn is probably a nightmare.
balerion@beehaw.orgOPto Chat@beehaw.org•Random opinion I needed to tell the world: It's not weird or bad that kids want to grow up to be influencers.English2·2 years agoNot all influencers advertise. A YouTuber who makes money solely from their Patreon is still an influencer.

balerion@beehaw.orgto Chat@beehaw.org•Something I WONT miss from Reddit/other social mediasEnglish25·2 years agoI dunno. I kind of wish there were an anti-corporate place to be horny. Right now there really isn’t.
balerion@beehaw.orgOPto asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are you not going to stop doing the wrong way?English7·2 years agoI do it from the bottom. It’s much easier that way.
balerion@beehaw.orgOPto asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are you not going to stop doing the wrong way?English3·2 years agoI think that if you feel you must clean them, you’re supposed to use some kind of water pick or something, but you’re not really supposed to clean them much at all.
balerion@beehaw.orgOPto asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are you not going to stop doing the wrong way?English6·2 years agoI hold a pencil wrong. I’ve done it this way my whole life. I used to have a callus from it, too.
balerion@beehaw.orgOPto asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are you not going to stop doing the wrong way?English27·2 years agoYou are not supposed to use q-tips to clean your ears. But if it’s wrong, I don’t wanna be right.
balerion@beehaw.orgto asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is your favourite Lemmy community, which is not on lemmy.ml?1·2 years agoYou’re the ones who don’t understand that socialism means worker ownership of the means of production, not state ownership of the means of production.
balerion@beehaw.orgto Chat@beehaw.org•People who think Lemmy is too political and refuse to join is good.English2·2 years agoBut holding a few individuals to account for systemic problems will rarely accomplish anything. Societal problems require societal solutions. We can only achieve meaningful change via collective action. If it were the case that individuals could simply get up in their own homes and choose to change the world, we would already be in a better world, because most of us want that better world. The mere fact that shit sucks right now proves that the will of atomized individuals is not enough to change anything.
balerion@beehaw.orgto Chat@beehaw.org•People who think Lemmy is too political and refuse to join is good.English7·2 years agoTankies are just right-wingers who simp for different countries.
balerion@beehaw.orgto Chat@beehaw.org•People who think Lemmy is too political and refuse to join is good.English13·2 years agoPeople like that guy either don’t realize that choosing to allow slurs is also a political decision, or they do realize it and are simply cynical. I’m honestly not sure which.
balerion@beehaw.orgto Chat@beehaw.org•People who think Lemmy is too political and refuse to join is good.English17·2 years agoCaring about humanity is why I care about politics, though. Politics is the vehicle through which humanity’s fate is decided. If you don’t participate in it, you allow people who do to run roughshod over you. Politics decides whether your country goes to war or not, whether people die in poverty or not, whether the climate apocalypse kills us all or not.
Note that by politics I do not necessarily mean electoralism. Voting is a stopgap measure at best. But there’s much more to politics than voting and elections.
balerion@beehaw.orgto Chat@beehaw.org•People who think Lemmy is too political and refuse to join is good.English16·2 years agoAs someone who is far, far left, I just want to say that Lemmygrad doesn’t represent us all. The libertarian left is very different.
See, I was born around 8:00 AM and I hate mornings. I figure it’s the trauma of being ripped out of my nice comfortable home into this weird, loud, cold setting I never asked to go to.
