it is the lawyers oath to fight whatever legal argument their client is having to withstand, and you’d want one to do so on your behalf if you’d fucked up too.

It was out long enough for me to create my own lemmy instance in frustration.
The lawers job is to help their client navigate the legal system. That does, sometimes, mean they have to do or say or pretend they believe certain things because their obligation is towards their client and nothing else.
