  • It’s funny, but memes like this affect the opinion of people who haven’t tried it.

They mistake some extreme minimal arch rice for the general Arch experience or the general Linux experience as well. If so many Lemmy users, who are statistically tech nerds, don’t see through the meme, then the average person will definitely stay away from Linux.

  • First off, thank you for this awesome platform and for being my first real experience with contributing to FOSS, I learned quite a bit and I had a lot of of fun! I really hope Rust ends up becoming the new standard in web backends instead of Java with Spring/Springboot.

The only question I have that hasn’t already been asked is about the legal side of things:

What are you responsible for as the developers of Lemmy, and what are you responsible for as the owners of a Lemmy instance?

Do you have to take certain measures to keep the platform clean from illegal activities and CP/gore? If so, what has been done?

The same question applies to GDPR rules for Europe.

    Thanks for doing this :D

  • I use a GTX 970, I can play most games just fine.

It’s not Windows performance, Cyberpunk 2077 for instance was quite more unstable for me on Arch and it took quite a bit of tweaking to be able to launch it (it’s a miracle that I can even play Cyberpunk with a 970 in both cases :P). Generally though I’ve had a pretty good experience, most games play out of the box with good performance, and I get to daily drive Linux finally
