Thank you for both of those!
Admin. Music maker from Colorado. Music is at https://music.knova.net. I also run dartboard.social (akkoma microblog) and links.dartboard.social (Lemmy).___
Thank you for both of those!
Nice work to all the contributors for this release. Feels great so far.
There was like 200 comments worth of discussion on this and it seems like it was implemented without much fanfare. What gives? This is one of the biggest gripes I had early on. I’m gonna shout this from the roof tops
You can ask the Lemmy.ml admins to assign a new mod
RE: #3 - we can all choose to be kind to newcomers. Be patient with people as they make those “Testing from Mastodon - can you see this?” Type posts.
Ah well, enjoy the day to recover then!
I felt fine the day after getting mine pulled.
Lots of ibuprofen and Tylenol for the pain (not both at the same time IIRC) but other than the risk of getting elbowed in the face I don’t see any problems.
What’s the concert anyway?
Definitely a hard habit to break but it does feel good removing my need for that screen time. Since things move slower here I don’t feel like I’m “missing out” per se - you can usually jump into a convo at any time
I’m getting an outdoorsy community going on my insurance: !campingandhiking@links.dartboard.social
I don’t want to seem like I’m spamming or just commenting for self advertisement, but I have space to grow here if anyone wants to join. I have registrations open for the week since things are tumultuous. https://links.dartboard.social
It’s one of the most popular sites on the internet, it’s hard not to comment on it. It’s like when Florida does stupid stuff politically. It doesn’t directly affect me but I always keep my eye on it.
yes, about 2-3 every day.
That potentially makes things very simple to kind of ‘instantly cross-post’ w/ a multi-reddit type setup
I’m hoping this gets addressed with a super-community / “multi Reddit” type feature eventually. But that wouldn’t really address how posting works. You would still need to drop it into a single community. But maybe it could encourage spreading content around similar communities.
Camping & Hiking related communities. Kind of hit me this morning that it was a major hole I have not yet filled from my time on Reddit.
I ended up making a community for that here, but I’m not sure if there’s already one out there. https://links.dartboard.social/c/campingandhiking
https://join-lemmy.org/docs/en/contributors/04-api.html
Not sure about any info that is hidden to the default Lemmy-UI though
I think my advice is the same as it was for new Mastodon transplants a few months ago: follow a lot, prune a lot.
Communities will come and go. Don’t get discouraged your first week trying to figure everything out. I’d follow a bunch of communities and just prune them out later if your home timeline is getting out of hand.
no, I have been on Akkoma (a Mastodon alternative) since October 2022. Definitely a bit more invested here though. Edit: if you’d like to follow me on Mastodon/Akkoma/microblogging fediverse, it’s knova@dartboard.social - sign ups also welcome on dartboard.social.
This chat community has been great for random discussions. !linux@lemmy.ml has some fun discussions so far. I’m biased, but I participate in my own !campingandhiking@links.dartboard.social community
