My point is if I add or update a package and don’t know the hash for a particular derivation I need to put something temporarily to let nix fail and show me the hash it found out. And there I have the choice between typing something like lib.fakeHash or just "", of which imho the latter is way easier.

Well yeah I understood that from season one, but to me it seems such a gift from your master would be treasured instead of sold off, maybe not used, but at least kept as a keepsake, right? On top of that would such a wand that was crafted for one person in particular even be useful to someone else?

I wonder why Rudeus didn’t ask Fitts about the wand (yet?). After all he seemed to have recognized it during the duel.
