Afaik, castellano is spoken everywhere, at least as a secondary language. Hence I understand the map to show regional variants of castellano spoken either exclusively or secundary to another local language.

This always amazes me. Given the fact that these people are being chosen among thousands and trusted for representing their country internationally, I am overwhelmed by how many of them cannot even speak more than their native language and some English.
