Understood… I love Beehaw.org, but I’m thinking more and more that I need to spin up a Lemmy instance on my domains. :P

Makes sense… :P /s/Lemmy
If I run a Lemmy instance, can I create sub-reddits, or forums? [What are they called on Lemmy???]
Understood … its worth looking into - maybe one can help support the project. :P I’m already thinking of how I can bridge Lemmy posts to my BBS FidoNet feeds. :P
I agree with you on many points… a lot of the ‘reddit amateur’ stuff isn’t, anymore… but there’s still some people that are present only because they want to be - its just more and more for the dollar. :(
And agreed; anything cringy is just… abuse. Period.
For the amateur content, of course!
Thanks for the replies; I’m commenting to both of ya’ll r0ckstars in this reply b/c you both answered my questions and gave me some links to checkout; Beehaw.org is great for my home LemmyNet site, but I’ll search thru all after checking my subs.
Users can’t create their own sub-forums, right??? I do wish that was a thing, as I’m missing a few of my main /r/'s…
Thanks ya’ll… appreciate the community we have here and the willingness to help the newbs. Cheers!
That one gets a BIG upvote!! :P Were you already a user, or did you just make a new account? I’ll have to give you the l33t access if I know yer username. [Email me on 2oFB is you wanna by anonymous. :P]
I wish I could run Lemmy on my website and connect it, somehow, to the comments section of my articles/blog posts… like - if I were running a Lemmy instance and were able to create a sub that IS my websites comments/replies and have them linked or listed underneath each article… one can dream, right??
Great idea; checkout The Old Net which also does what yer proxy does… maybe you’ll get some neat ideas from them. Also, I’m sure you know, but;
Are both great tools for retro-computing websites… Hope yer project comes together, w00t w00t!
Sweet!! Any plans for it, or is is literally gonna do m0re time as a USR modem??? I’ve seen a few neat RPi modem projects… one of my favorites is a RPi w/ a WiFi modem installed - all RX/TX/etc light still w0rking. :P While I hate hardware being killed, some projects are really rad. Hope to catch you around the boardz.
Yep ; The Telnet BBS Guide was linked in the article, but there it is again for easy clicking! You’ll find many stock, unmodified BBSes, in its listings - so I put a list of ‘best BBSes’ in my original article to get users going.
Cheers.
Right on!! I saw your new user email this morning; thanks for dialing in!! :P Nice to know theres some retro r0ckers on Beehaw - I’ll have to post some of my collection at some point… I’m currently working on a ‘portable luggable’ Dolch PAC 60 486DX/66. It was originally a Sniffer Packet Inspection system, so I’ve been giving it a remodel w/ a SoundBlaster, amplifier and speakers to bring it up to MS-DOS speed…
Was nice to see you checkout the 2oFB community; thanks!
Oh, I’m OK w/ general locationz… Portland, OR, USA, earth.
I’m still learning the what Lemmy devs are trying to do… I’m intrigued.
