Logically this makes sense, we’re also number two for number of tech workers. I don’t think this is a meaningful stat. I’d be more surprised if we were number 20 and Alabama was number 2.

Gotta agree, they’re just too afraid of pissing off drivers when they don’t realize drivers are going to be pissed off no matter what. Some places don’t need cars, and you aren’t going to have drivers happily not drive in a place because you say please. They need mechanical bollards that go up like you said at 9am every day. That’s what London did with Battersea power station and its revival, it is what we should do here.

That’s absolutely nuts, I hadn’t heard that. I had heard their “reasoning” for why, like “one kid only broke their leg”. Like they really think they have the authority and medical discipline to tell people that children don’t need to be airlifted. Insane.

For a second I thought our Lemmy post did something

People read this and think violent crime. I see that cars are the real killers

A lot of people hate on Lime but I find it incredibly useful, especially in the farther out areas where busses aren’t as convenient. For a while Woodinville had them and it was so damn convenient, I went to Woodinville honestly pretty often because I could get around there. Now they got rid of them or something? So I never go there anymore, my money stays here.
God the article gives everything except WHERE to find it

Title reads like

Yeah they claim it’s for the trees but we’ve heard that argument before. They don’t give a damn about the trees. If that was the case they’d be trying to limit the sprawl of the city down in enumclaw and Puyallup. They just don’t want more density around them.

I think this is the best they could say though, I’m not sure what you’re going for. From where I stand, it sounds great (implementation is different, but when dealing with them all we have is their word for now).
They said “If they see somebody being assaulted unlawfully or attacked unlawfully or otherwise having their legal rights violated, we do not expect state and local law enforcement officers to simply watch or do nothing.”
What did you want them to say? They are expected to watch or do nothing? They can’t mandate that they will, at least our AG/Gov can’t, that’s not really in their power to so, instead they’re setting expectations in the best way they can.
And yes, public spaces. Do you want them coming into private spaces? Were they supposed to say that? That also would be a horrid thing for them to say “They’ll be coming to your private spaces”.
I really don’t think this is saying what you think it is.

Check the legend for the true sadness of this

That’s a good callout, I’ll send something too. It has the potential for being a great spot - if it’s done well. Battersea they made into a mixed-use haven, with commercial on the ground floor and upper floors being apartments, making it a place to live, to socialize, and everything could be walkable. That could be a very easy win here. We need less mega-apartment buildings and more real-life usable neighborhoods.

This could be really cool. Looking at London and what they did with Battersea Power Station this could turn an old failing building into a focal point of a new development.

God she just embodies let perfect be the enemy of good. Any time something good happens she has to ruin it by saying it should be perfect instead. Well yeah it should, but can’t we have something good in the meantime?
The protest comes as Sawant has targeted the congressional seat of District 9’s Adam Smith.
Ah. So that’s why. Another performative politician.

Not bad. Seems straightforward to me after listening to the whole thing. We’ll see what actually gets done.
Investing in repaving roads and fixing bridges - with no tax increases. In fact, only tax increase I heard proposed was a millions tax, and that’s if you earn over 1mil a year. Anyone upset about that makes too much money and deserves it. Pushing back against federal overreach, more veteran’s benefits
Overall, positive speech, now get it done
Here in Seattle we have the belief that individuals have the freedom and liberty to make decisions about their own bodies.
Apparently that pisses off conservatives.

I had a cached copy, feel free to use it.

Love it, the rapidrides are a godsend and make it so much easier to get around. After staying in Vancouver and getting stuck in traffic for 45 minutes without moving on their busses, I’m very happy we’re investing in bus lanes.
Does America know how to do anything else?
