The source in the image says the survey was from 15 to 49 years old; I’m not sure on the age demographics of India but that seems like it would leave out a large chunk of population.

There are no dragons in Skyrim and many other games because wyverns are NOT dragons. and don’t use the “well the overarching category is dragon so it still counts” argument on me, because I will dismiss it out of hand!
You could always make a post on the general music communities and see if other folks want to chat in the comments? I think we just need to embrace making posts about specific things in communities that feel “not specific enough” but that have enough subscribers that at least one or two care about that subtopic of the larger whole.
I have 10+ handwritten notebooks with all of my journaling from middle school and high school that I do plan to scan and OCR at some point; in college, I used 750words.com for all of my journaling, and since then I’ve migrated to TiddlyWiki for several years and Obsidian for several more.
I do still hand-write occasionally, mostly for really emotional or personal things, but I wouldn’t want to make it my primary method of writing now that I have the majority of my writing digitized. Being able to search and find that thought from 5 years ago that I want to reference in whatever I’m writing today is great. I also find it helps make connections between recurring topics of interest.
I’ve started using handwritten physical kanban cards, though, and that physicality is incredibly helpful in visualizing the projects and work I want to do and keeping it at the forefront of my mind.
Reading the back of Dr. Bronners soap bottles is so fun, haha. Hadn’t thought that they sell bar soap too though. Definitely going to try it out, thanks!
We’ve tried Harry’s before and I really like it! just a little too far on the expensive side for how much we go through.
Hadn’t heard of Zest but that’s definitely the type of soap we’re looking for. I’ll add it to the list, thanks! :)
Feeling comfortable in it as the driver, especially with the design of the front console and cup holders.
When I was shopping for my first new car ever, there were several cars that I thought I probably should consider (Honda Fit '16ish, Scion xB were a couple of them) but they just felt so uncomfortable sitting in the driver’s seat. Now, I don’t mean the seats themselves were literally physically uncomfortable, but the general environment of the driver’s seat.
When I sat in a Scion iM it immediately felt right. The cup holders were accessible and not tucked under the console, the console itself felt clean and minimalistic, useful but unobtrusive. It also still has a turn-key start, rather than a button, and it’s silly but that’s important to me (and I also worry about being locked out of push-to-start cars should the key fob die). Got it at 30k miles and plan to keep on going for as long as I can take it into the 100k+ amount! Hopefully by the time I have to replace it, the electric and hybrid car options will have increased even more.
A little surprised no one has mentioned corn on pizza! I have a memory of being in a Sbarro as a kid and they had pizza with canned corn kernels on it and something about that just really grosses me out.
IMO it’s quite good! especially when paired with banana peppers as well.
haha, came here looking for the saurkraut mention! in my hometown there was a gas station pizza place that offered saurkraut (and banana peppers) and I thought it was quite tasty. :)
Agreed! Honestly it’s been two weeks since joining the threadiverse and federation is still magical to me - being on my home instance, making a post to a community on another instance, then watching it appear on their page seconds later - SO cool.
It’s something to do with the web sockets implementation in 0.17 - when any person on your instance subscribes to a community, the community’s posts get added to the top of the web ui feed (possibly only if you’re on page 1?). so if I’m on page 1 of new and someone subscribes to a self-hosted community, I’ll be flooded with all the recent posts from that community as I’m scrolling through the feed.
should be fixed in 0.18 since web sockets are removed there, and it’s also less of a deal on small instances as I said.
I think it’s reasonable to have an account on another federated server, especially if they’re a smaller (sub 100 users) instance that requires applications. In my experience after switching to a smaller server, I was able to see a similar amount of activity on my feed by subscribing to a wide range of communities I’m even mildly interested in.
I like browsing by New and on Beehaw, it’s a bit rough because I would see a lot of NSFW communities and have to constantly manually block them, and as it’s a more active instance, I would run into the “person subscribes to new community and feed fills with those posts” bug very often. On the smaller instance, there’s a lot of overlap between my subs and other users’ subs in terms of content so New is still a pleasant browsing experience.
yup, I started on Beehaw and realized I didn’t miss the downvotes and that it made interacting with comments sections feel much more in good faith. Later moved to my current instance after specifically looking for small instances with applications and no downvotes but federated with (almost) everyone. I know downvotes are still there for most other users but I don’t see them and it’s freeing!
now I’m curious what the click-bait title pays off with. Is the answer “figure out what emotions you have around the thing, feel through them, then just do the thing”?
In early April I started using Personal Kanban (visualize your work; limit WIP) and I went from thinking I was an unambitious and boring person to realizing I wasn’t giving myself enough credit for all the things I want to do! Being able to see the entire backlog of large and small projects was overwhelming at first, but also a lesson in - what do I really prioritize that’s important to me?
So, if I didn’t have to work to support myself, I’d spend more time with all my personal projects. This includes, but isn’t limited to:
I was mostly referring to leaving out the 50 and above population, rather than the 15 and below population. That seems like leaving out a good chunk of adults to me, but I’m no expert.
Does the bit about non-participation means adults over 50 were less likely to respond to the survey?
