miku and Vista are the same age. more like cousins or siblings. both are from 2007, just looked it up.

damn, i never knew my manhood was so attached to my fingers. if i rip my nails off does that make me an alien, a woman, or a plucked chicken?
it’s a very British conservatism. it’s about blood. the story has people constantly accusing Harry of having bad parentage; as his aunt says “bad blood will out”. a left leaning story would have shown that blood had nothing to do with it. Harry was not raised by his dead parents regardless of how good or bad they are. Harry knew trauma and abuse, then was given his values by Dumbledore and hagrid and lupin and his friends.
but that’s not what happened. in the end it’s not that blood and lineage doesn’t matter. it’s just that his parents were actually high class and wealthy. so Harry won because he had good blood and was the chosen one. he won because of the innate quality he was born with.
thedirtyknapkin@lemmy.worldto Animemes@ani.social•One Piece will survive next generation too.2·4 months agoit’s like a mid budget average production quality anime for a manga famed for its action sequences.
a bit like one punch man season 2. not necessarily bad, but certainly disappointing compared to the source.
thedirtyknapkin@lemmy.worldto Animemes@ani.social•One Piece will survive next generation too.3·4 months agoit’s still going, but the anime largely isn’t living up to the manga and the hype has already mostly died.
it’s not bad, i enjoy it. it’s just not incredible either.
thedirtyknapkin@lemmy.worldto Map Enthusiasts@sopuli.xyz•World map from China, first time I see this projection1·5 months agoi mean this is all very dependent on time, place, and people. there are people that were fully nomadic at all times of human history. they certainly didn’t stay in a town either. some people did travel, clearly. devout religious folk, merchants, well to do young men… there have always been exceptions, but on the whole as a norm, over 500 years ago most people didn’t travel much. and more to my point, pilgrims traveling like that likely didn’t have maps most of the time. they likely got directions to the next town by the people that lived there.
a square is a POLYGON with four equal sides and four right angles.
a polygon is a closed shape with only straight lines.
I’m pretty sure “parallel” could be in there too, but these rules would make that redundant.
the game has no gambling whatsoever. it only has poker aesthetic. it uses the term “ante” to mean “level”, it uses traditional poker hands, and it uses chips to define points. otherwise it’s just a non gambling card game. it would be like putting this rating on go-fish, or solitaire because they use the same cards that poker does. this game could not teach you how to play poker.
the association with gambling is entirely superficial. what has everyone up in arms is that there are many games with micro transactions that are essentially a roll at the slot machine, and intentionally designed using gambling psychology, that people lose thousands of dollars at every day. those games don’t have their gambling mechanics considered at all by ratings boards. it shows that pegi doesn’t put much work into their ratings. one game that looks like gambling but isn’t gets and 18+. the many games that have real predatory gambling tactics but hide them are free to do so with impunity.
hell, do you remember when half of twitch was people “rolling” for cs:go skins and trading them for real money. that was just straight up regular gambling that streamers were faking numbers for to show them making a profit. they used dishonest third party sites to trade the items and broadcast themselves getting unrealistic results. the only reason it stopped was because of the dishonesty of the third party sites coming out. not because of the underage gambling for a promise of actual financial returns. that still happens in many games. most of which have a lower pegi rating than cs:go or balatro.
that’s a lot of effort to ask of someone just because you like it. it feels like khaleesi requiring people to use her full title all the time. you and i are just a standard part of language that don’t diminish what one is. i am no less my name and my identity because i use i and me. those words just exist to make speaking easier and less clunky. and as i mentioned before, they’re such standard and thoughtless parts of language that it genuinely takes a lot of effort to avoid them for just one person. so I’ll use drag instead of any gendered pronouns, but you is just part of the English language that you don’t have a good reason for me to put that effort into avoiding.
so I’ll take you up on your former offer of not using drag instead of you. I won’t misgender you and call you something you’re not, but you’re still you. that’s not inaccurate. I’m not misidentifying you by saying that. I’m just not calling you you’re full title every time i speak. to me this is the same as not calling someone sir just because they think they deserve special treatment.
I’ll try, i don’t want to be disrespectful and I’m sorry if my tone has been a bit heavy.
can drag try to help me understand why drag feels that way? why don’t first person pronouns work for drag.
and man, it’s hard to avoid words that one uses through habit without thinking. I’ve had to edit this like five times to catch all of the “you’s”. it’s just not a layer of consciousness in my brain. i have to kind of break my brain to stop saying “you”. it feels like having to avoid saying “the”
I’m sorry i don’t know what person independent pronouns are. i am not deep in the trans community. I’m just trying to understand. being aggressive like this about genuinely complicated and nuanced things that 90% of the population doesn’t understand is a big part as what pushes people away from understanding.
why do they exist though? is it like a split personality thing? what does it mean to not identify with first person pronouns? just towing the line and doing what I’m told isn’t my style. i need to understand what I’m saying. it’s like the difference between using a math formula and understanding how it works. i don’t like using words that I don’t understand.
i and me aren’t gendered pronouns. you’re just using the third person…
pronoun replacements like that are for he/him/her/herself/whatever. unless you’re implying that you aren’t you somehow? replacing first person pronouns like that just means you’re using the third person all the time.
why do you feel the need to do that? what is wrong with i and me? is "you’ out of bounds too?
why do you refer to yourself in the third person? and why did you link to that comment thread at almost the end? i had to hit “show context” like 15 times to have any idea what the fuck was happening.
neither of these things are helping with people’s confusion. you are aggressively insisting that everyone understands and agrees with your viewpoint on a niche side of a niche community. you can’t expect people to understand the context without being deeeeep in that community. this is probably one of the most trans friendly spaces on the Internet. calling the space generally transphobic is a little too victim complexy.
anything that’s more of a safe space than this is going to be a complete and total echo chamber with no opposing or dissenting views on anything whatsoever. if you want to go somewhere where people can’t disagree with you, it sounds like your own discord server where you can ban people for that is the only option.
honestly… you probably shouldn’t leave rakes on the ground where people can step on them. you may not be culpable of murder for it, but it’s still a shitty thing to do.
if you leave a rake on the ground and someone steps on it and trips and dies would you be guilty of murder? no it’s a freak accident that you couldn’t have possibly predicted. the difference is when you can see it happening and don’t pick the rake back up after it happens 3 times. what we’re talking about here aren’t freak accidents where someone dies once. were talking about systemic problems that are easily identified and proven but aren’t fixed because it’s more profitable not to. that’s where you become culpable.
so i guess you become a murderer after you refuse to pick up the rake that has killed 1000 people because of where you intentionally left it. especially when you’re the only one that is allowed to pick up the rake.
i got heartburn just looking at this. that’s literally spiced grease.
because uneducated people are easy to lie to.
I’m having trouble following you here, but it sounds like you’re just saying that the other colora are derived from mixing the primaries. that doesn’t make the colors you get from that a mental illness??
is mud not real because it’s just wet dirt? is steel not real because it’s just iron with added carbon? that’s silly.
if your only point is that non primary colors are made by mixing primary colors then congrats, you’ve taught a kindergarten lesson very badly.
oh don’t worry, there’s multiple specific ways to define colors. you can go out and buy a book that literally just has thousands of defined tones and their specific names. chartreuse has a hex code and a specific rgb value for example. you’re right though, laymen don’t have the right vocabulary to define colors specifically.
the only real point you have here is that color is defined by human perception. even the colors you call real are just abstractions based on what range of wavelength is visible to human perception.
all colors are defined be human perception. the only way to remove yourself from that is to use strict wavelengths. or you can realize you are a human and the only meaningful way to define this is by our perception.
oh my God, you don’t make pink by combining red and blue, you make pink by decreasing the intensity of the red.
my whole point was that color is a percieved thing. it is more than wavelength. you are trying to say the only thing that can be defined as color is the wavelength of light. there’s more to it than that. like, congrats you proved that hue is not the only thing that defines color. well done. unfortunately reality exists. we can go and point to red, pink, and purple and differentiate then mathematically with scientific tools. to say that isn’t color is incorrect and pedantic.
hue is just frequency. color includes intensity and color mixture. if you want to say that color is just a percieved experience and isn’t real then sure maybe you have a point, but that means all color.
what you really mean is that pink and other colors aren’t on the rainbow. that doesn’t make them not real.
and yes hue, saturation, and luminance are abstractions. much like acceleration is an abstraction of distance over time over time. that’s why i also defined it by color mixing terms. i can pull out a spectrum analyzer right now and show you saturation and luminance with data.
wait, did she get pushed ahead like 2 years. why would she be graduating at 16?
a 25 year old being attracted to an 18 year old really isn’t weird to me…
edit: also, how the fuck does saying that to a graduation post even imply attraction. the critical commentor in that post is just being a dumb asshole.
