I’ve started using the @librewolf browser, and while the @1password Firefox plugin seems to work fine, it’s not allowing me to unlock my vault using Touch ID. Any idea?
Does that addon require 1password’s desktop program for this feature?
In that case you’ll need a little additional setup, but hopefully not much.
The feature addons use to communicate with a program running outside of the browser is called Native Messaging. Basically it’s happening through a (text?) file. The desktop program probably looks for it in the firefox user data directory instead of the librewolf user data dir.For now that’s enough, if it turns out that this is the case I’ll fill you in on how to make it work.
@daniel @librewolf @1password do you really require the plugin? I don’t know 1Password, but with KeePassXC you can just put your cursor in the first login-field in the browser, change over to the Password Manager and hit ‘AutoType’ and it completes the fields for you.
But that is a different password manager, where they don’t have their data.
Nope, most modern company based managers rely on the browser plugin to auto fill there
I can try that later to see if it works for me
You can check out the 1Password Community.
They said that the 1Password extension requires a “developer signature” which Firefox has but Librewolf doesn’t.
