Not much reading for me this week. For the most part of the week, I did try Modern Villainess, but I didn’t really made much progress through it because the LN couldn’t grab me. Until the point where I dropped it, there was little to no actual story, just exposition-style setup of MC’s corporation with lots of financial jargon. I suppose there will come a point where there will be some character-driven storyline, but I had to accept that the LN just isn’t for me at some point and drop it.
I then grabbed Hell Mode vol. 6 but couldn’t finish it because BG3 happened.
Nice to see that you tried modern Villainess at least :)
It really isn’t a mainstream ln for sure. If you do didn’t enjoy the corporate setup, then I doubt you’d really enjoy it even when the story really starts.
I got vol. 3 laying around right now and will start once I finished COTE Y2V5
I give books I dropped usually another go after a while. Maybe I will have a better time getting into it then. Can I ask you whether or not there will be a more “normal story structure” later on?
What I’ve read were almost only setup. Things like “my stand in bought bank X and we wrote it off to insure division Y. Ha, I saved the job of the son of my maid but I need to build up my foreign offshore account to save the economy. I guess I will have them buy up the other bank and have the bad debt moved to the government. Three done. I’m a genius!”. All this is mostly delivered by inner monologue or by the narrator. There were very little character interaction that wasn’t just implied. No dialogue between characters.
I do spoilers by marking the text in question and then clicking on the little exclamation mark in the triangle in the text field. The syntax written out it looks like this:

Can you tell me how far you read and what happened? Not very detailed.
Been a while since I read them and my memory is a bit hazy.
But there will come a more normal type story that facilitates the worlds happenings.
It will stay with the financial jargon tho.
Also, can you tell me how I put spoiler tags in lemmy?
