A right wing initiative narrowly approved by voters that sought to prevent Washington from transitioning away from methane gas to clean energy alternatives is unconstitutional on multiple grounds and cannot stand, a King County Superior Court judge said in a bench ruling on the second day of spring. The decision is the latest defeat Building Industry Association of Washington, a right wing business lobby group, and Republican megadonor Brian Heywood, who jointly funded the measure.
