In New Zealand, you can see them in sanctuaries! They’re huge and look they’re wearing MC Hammer pants as they run around. So freaking cute. Just don’t make the mistake I did. The birds are Kiwi, the fruit is called kiwifruit. If you say you want to eat a Kiwi from New Zealand, you’ll get treated like you’re a psycho, threat, and/or moron.
Photos with toys, like this one, really made me believe Kiwi were tiny. They’re so so much bigger than you think!

Alternatively “Kiwi” also refers to a New Zealander. Or at least it does if you’re Australian.
