Not bad. Saginaw is now more dangerous. I sometimes drive thru flint on my way north but there isn’t much growth or development. What they are doing in Detroit I hope happens there one day, and Pontiac too. Both would be great to have something other than Amtrak connecting us.

Pontiac is a place a bit outside of Detroit. The car company is officially no more.

Detroit is building out from its core. 20 years ago Woodward, the street that runs from the river to the suburbs, was mostly bordered up store fronts and the area could be dangerous during the day. Now it’s alive and people are always out and about. Mid city was a bunch of burned out houses, now blocks of new and redeveloped homes. Detroit has some of the best architecture in the US and there is a big push to rehab it and grow. Long way to go still but it’s the first time in my life the area is going in a positive direction.
