Chewing will cause them to mix as well, but there’s less time for the compounds to catalyze and “mature” to change the flavor very much
It’s not just that, but the number of cuts made also increases the amount of different compounds mixing after being separated by cell walls which causes them to form new compounds.
I beg to differ, wasps are cool and useful and deserve additional support

“We built a robot to see how fast you can say ‘pick it up’ before overwhelming people, but never thought it would go this far. When it learned to weaponize ‘chicken it up what’ we knew our goose was cooked.”
Yes, actually, and it’s a little uncomfortable to witness
I don’t think I’ve come across a server without upvotes, though some disable downvotes. That said, the vote tally means less to me than someone saying “that’s neat, thanks for sharing!”, and that definitely adds to the vibe as well as the conversation. I encourage you to do that, to the level you’re comfortable with
When I lost the first twenty it was a new cookbook, and at thirty lost it was some new pants and shirts for the rotation. That quickly became additional better fitting clothes since I was still dropping weight.
Congratulations! It’s been some time since being at my heaviest, but the memories of shedding the weight and feeling good about new healthier habits is still fresh. I hope you celebrated the milestone with something that will help keep up that good work you’re doing
Thank you for reminding me to be better!
Ducklings. She wouldn’t let me start clearing the broken eggs yet, and there are a few more that might still be viable, but there are about fifteen in that cuddle puddle.

As @Cinnamon and @chloyster stated, Beehaw restricts creation of new communities, so if you want that specific ability, your best bet is to create it on another instance.
If, however, you want to help moderate a community that isn’t here yet, I encourage you to participate in the threads where the admins ask for community suggestions. They happen fairly regularly, particularly now as there are so many new voices looking for ways to talk about their passions. The last one has been locked so they can tabulate the comments and votes for new hives, but you should absolutely make suggestions on the next one if you don’t see them there. In the interim, there’s also the option to post the subject matter you’d like to see to one of the other hives that aligns well with it. If there’s a healthy amount of interest there and good engagement, it can be a strong contender in the next round of additions.
Fun fact - Ceanothus americanus and Camellia sinensis both produce similar compounds. C. americanus was seen as a way to break the stranglehold that the East India Trading company had over the tea trade and played a role in the continental congress’ decision to declare independence from the British.
Thank you! I say do it, but I love tattoos
This is a cutting I grew of my favorite plant, Ceanothus americanus/New Jersey Tea, with my tattoo of its botanical illustrations from a survey done a few centuries ago (and my pasty I-wear-jeans-all-summer legs)
