I’m a reddit moderator who wants to make big communities on here. How do I do it?

Some Lemmy instances will allow users to make communities, however beehaw is not one of those instances. If you want to make communities you will need an account on a different instance that allows it

If you want to make a community, either make an account on an instance that allows it or host your own instance.

As @Cinnamon and @chloyster stated, Beehaw restricts creation of new communities, so if you want that specific ability, your best bet is to create it on another instance.

If, however, you want to help moderate a community that isn’t here yet, I encourage you to participate in the threads where the admins ask for community suggestions. They happen fairly regularly, particularly now as there are so many new voices looking for ways to talk about their passions. The last one has been locked so they can tabulate the comments and votes for new hives, but you should absolutely make suggestions on the next one if you don’t see them there. In the interim, there’s also the option to post the subject matter you’d like to see to one of the other hives that aligns well with it. If there’s a healthy amount of interest there and good engagement, it can be a strong contender in the next round of additions.
