It’s not counterproductive when one side wants to do horrible things to people like me and my friends and the other doesn’t. When one side actively endangers people and takes their rights away and the other doesn’t. Those are very, very real issues to a lot of people, and acting like that doesn’t matter at this point is just willful ignorance. You don’t have to identify with one side to openly disagree with the other. You can prefer a system without parties or teams without refusing to stand up against a team that already exists, whether you like it or not, and has made their horrible views very well known.

But you’re not just defending centrists, you’re responding to claims people make about centrists by saying “but I’m not like that so obviously not all centrists are like that”. Your reply to pthaloblue elsewhere in the thread is an example of this. You clearly present yourself as a centrist there in direct response to someone talking about centrists. You seem to be arguing about this from the point of view of someone who feels like they’re being personally attacked even though based on the actual beliefs you’ve mentioned and your own dislike of labels by all accounts you’re not a centrist and thus not an example of what centrists are like.

But your shoulder doesn’t move like your forearm, does it? It only rotates in place, with a limited range. It can’t completely flip like your forearm. Your muscles lock it in place, because they have to when it’s in a ball and socket configuration, because the muscles are how you move the limb around in the socket, and there are a lot of insertion and origin points near or around that socket, limiting the range of movement there.

If you want to be able to completely flip the limb, you have to make it so that the parts can move against each other more freely along with the muscles, which a criss cross configuration like this allows for, because the part that moves the most, aka the part where it criss crosses, is where there are less insertion and origin points. That way the positioning of the muscles doesn’t inhibit the movement.

I think with the “walk the plank” style bucket trap he’ll need a pivot point further into the bucket so the rat has to get partway across before it’ll fall, which prevents it from jumping back before it falls in. Can do this with a thin rod that goes across attached to the bottom of whatever is used for the plank part.

One method that also sometimes works is putting a ramp on the side of the bucket to let the rat up, smearing peanut butter a few inches below the rim on the inside, and then greasing the edges a bit, so the rat has to try and reach in to get the peanut butter and then slips into the bucket because they can’t keep a grip on the sides.

Or he can go the Mouse Hunt route and just befriend the rat. I’m sure that couldn’t possibly go wrong.

But their "R"s can also be interpreted as L for loan words or words from another language depending on the word. Riguma would be spelled the same as ligma would in romaji, and when spoken would be pronounced the same. Ligma is a joke disease people claim to have so that when someone asks them what it is they can reply with “ligma balls”, which sounds like “lick my balls.” リグマ ボールス would be romanized as “riguma bōruzu”. Bōruzu is how they’d write the English word for balls, so “riguma bōruzu” sounds like “Ligma balls” and is how you would say/write it in katakana.

I think there’s a difference between someone who doesn’t pay attention to politics and someone who just doesn’t want to argue politics. Someone who doesn’t pay attention to politics at all is too sheltered and doesn’t understand the issues that have been going on and affect a lot of people, so a lot of those people don’t want to date someone who won’t be able to understand something vital to them and that has an effect on their lives. Especially since someone who hasn’t been paying attention likely doesn’t have a lot of the same principles and beliefs.
