The joke in the meme is John Cena laughing at JKR being in the Epstein files, though. That’s not a joke, it’s disinformation.

But JKR is objectively “in the Epstein files.” It’s not clear whether she was directly or intentionally involved, but her name is absolutely present in the files. This meme isn’t misinformation at all.

The point of using Nix as opposed to something like flatpak (or apt) is that all of your packages are managed through a text file (aka “declaratively”). The benefit of this approach is that, if you ever install a package that breaks something, you can easily undo any installation or system setting by reverting it in that single location. You also don’t get the problem where your computer slowly fills up with stuff you no longer need, because necessary programs would only be pulled in if they’re needed by ones you defined. This is also very nice for developers because it makes a system environment easy to replicate.

By installing packages with that command, you’re removing the main benefits of Nix, which is why it isn’t recommended. The recommended way to do it is to edit your nix configuration file with the package you want, and then run the nix rebuild command which will actually download the package. (There’s also a clean command which will fully remove previously installed programs no longer being used)

NixOS is a Linux distribution built entirely around this concept, where everything about the OS is managed by Nix. Since you’re just installing Nix on a steam deck, the config file won’t be under /etc/nixos, but a different location. I’m honestly not too sure where though because I’ve only ever used Nix on NixOS.

  • I think there is more evidence pointing to it being the runner’s cartridge or N64 having a hardware fault that caused it to happen. If I’m remembering correctly the runner said they had to frequently reset their runs because their game would crash for no specific reason, and they would reinsert or adjust the cartridge to get it working again.

They’re being pedantic but they’re also just factually wrong. The last few generations of Intel macs have an extra security chip called the T2 chip that makes it incredibly obnoxious to get the hardware working correctly on Linux. The wifi cards are also proprietary and you need to extract their firmware from MacOS in order to use them on Linux.

Edit: on top of that the last few generations of Intel macs didn’t sell well because they overheated and the keyboards broke easily so they’re already at a disadvantage in terms of support even compared to the apple silicon macs

The blur looks too natural to be AI, I think this is either just a blurry still from a video of a cat swatting the camera or just good old photoshop

Edit: definitely just regular Photoshop because you can kind of see the point where they photoshopped in the extra arm (looking at its stomach it looks like it’s sitting upright)
