Nothing is real. No concept you hold is concrete, actual reality. Our brains weren’t built to mold perfectly to the intricate contours of the universe, they were built to make a fast efficient model that does a bit better than our competitors. So, not only can you always be wrong, everyone is always wrong.

This really helps me give people more leeway and understanding. It helps me be kinder, and helps me take the time to understand others more.

Damn. I see how that can be a hard line to draw. I definitely am against that in my immediate reaction, but I also am very disconnected from either community. I do not know how people who have been abused in that way navigate their trauma. Hopefully we all get better at communicating over time. It’s unfortunate how black and white people see things, and how when they see something as wrong they’ll consider it beyond discussion, not worth thinking about. I’ve been thinking about making one. Never done something like that, but I like the idea of contributing to a new platform. Especially due to how much Chan Zen has changed how I take in the world.
