Meh, to me BlueSky is really just the dude who made Twitter deciding he wanted to try making Mastodon too.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s certainly better than “X” at this point, but I prefer Mastodon and the Fediverse in every way. (Features, community, population, etc). If BlueSky was compatible with ActivityPub then it’d be easy to recommend, but it seems unlikely for now at least.

    • Cowboy Bebop (Cool, classic, phenomenal and diverse soundtrack, well told story.) 24 eps
    • Samurai Champloo (Same director as Bebop, great characters, killer hip hop soundtrack, not a single bad episode.) 24 eps
    • Neon Genesis Evangelion (Gripping story, extremely unique and influential, weird and edgy ending(s)) 24 eps
    • FLCL (Superficially crazy but with layers of depth. Great soundtrack by the Pillows. Top notch animation throughout. Totally unique.) 6 eps
    • Redline (Great characters, top notch animation, fun story and setting. A cult classic.) movie
    • Akira (One of the greatest animated movies of all time. Cool cyberpunk setting with an epic ending.) movie
    • Death Note (Gripping detective and antihero story about supernatural murder powers and justice.) 37 eps
    • Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (Great characters, interesting story, lots of cool episodes) 52 eps
    • Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Epic combining robot adventure of a grand scale. Great characters and animation.) 27 eps
    • Trigun 1998 (Great cast of characters in an interesting world. Awesome soundtrack.) 26 eps
    • Macross Do You Remember Love (A classic robot anime at its best!) movie
    • Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro (Lupin, Jigen, Fujiko, Goemon and Zenigata in a film by Miyazaki.) movie
    • Paranoia Agent (One of the great directors, Satoshi Kon, with a twisting and turning thriller series.) 13 eps
    • Kaiba (A strange and complex transhumanist story in a cute child-like art style.) 10 eps.

    1. If you’re calling for a specific reason, like ordering food or whatever, write down what you want (plus any questions you have) ahead of time.

    2. If they ask you something that you’re not expecting or don’t understand, it’s ok to take a bit of time to think or ask them what they mean.

    3. Practice your intro or write it down if you need to. Something as simple as “Hello, I’m calling to make an appointment with Dr. Jones”, or “Hi, I’d like to place an order”, or whatever.

    4. And as a general anxiety tip, know that it’s always worse just before you do something. Most of the things we worry about never end up happening, and sometimes when they happen they aren’t that big of a deal.

    5. Take a second to remind yourself that what you’re doing is super normal, and so is making mistakes or being a bit awkward. The people who you’re talking to are used to dealing with all different kinds of strangers on the phone, including a lot of people with anxiety, hearing/speaking problems, etc.

  • I’m going to remain cautiously optimistic about this one. I’m a big fan of Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and for the most part Space Dandy also. Kids of the Slope ranged from just OK to pretty good, but the end left me a bit underwhelmed, and I haven’t checked out Shinichiro Watanabe’s other works. Lazarus sounds like it could be promising, though the animation in this preview trailer seems to be a little rough at times, I just hope the storytelling can rise up and approach the level of Bebop or Champloo!
