Jokes and debates ey? Sounds like Facebook 😵😵
Hello !! Glad and thankful that you’re here too ! 💕✨
There were so many turns to this journey ~ so beehaw spawned from a Bible scholar community? Wild ~~
I grew up in the Seventh-day Adventist church, which is kind of a closed community like Mormonism , but more biblically like the Baptist church , also folowing kosher and Jewish traditions and a hint of doomsday conspiracy theories~ but after all of that I feel they are very obsessed with scholarship - every week ½ of the Sabbath is the sermon/service, and thres a “Sabbath-School” where everyone in the world follows a Bible study guide following either a topic all through the bible or one character / book of the bible ~ very uni-vibes but for church ~ (also there’s a prophet ~ )
Alas I have no faith as of 2012 … 😵🫨
I dunno if it’s an intolerance but a lot of fragrances / perfumes and air fresheners make me feel sick / vomitty
I used old spice antiperspirant for ages , but I don’t know why I didn’t think of just getting fragrance free stuff, I have anti perspetant , body wash , shampoo , laundry strips ~ and they’re great ~ they have smells (metallic alluminium-ness) but no /added/ smell which I love ~
Ya , I was looking into it , but I think you need Sudo admin access ? I have a dreamhost shared server but I don’t think it’ll work
And risk getting banned by Reddit 🥶🥶
It’s probably up to the community admins to ignore or take external bans into consideration; like different countries and Interpol
If you have low resources you could copy ban lists to keep spam out (though that could be used to attack random users , though big communities’ ban lists may have more reputation - like beehaw is a big established community ~ ?
Not just content creation, but moderation / free labour
Ya - big social media companies are trying to make addictive products - so not the best for getting things done~
The hardest part is learning /something / and then it’s just transferring over right ?
Heheheh - I dunno how crazy it’ll be , but no harm in dabbling ~ also it’s cool to have a closed community page just for testing , also wanna test maybe only allowing one lemmy domain to post but allow others to comment , etc
Yeah ~ it’s nice that it’s nice ~ ✨
I like it ~ I joined mastodon but I think it was way too slow to load images - probably joined some dodgy overloaded server (though I like the Reddit format and community better rather than Twitter)
It’s giving me Reddit 15 years ago vibes - smaller tech-savvy and agile community - my Reddit use was on and off through the years; but I like the idea that each community in the Extended Lemmiverse can all have their own vibes and cultures and implementations of the platform and we can all chat and follow topics together 🕊️
I’ve only been here a short while; but maybe one thing I’d love is not to see reposts in the /all section ; I know the communities are small and growing and can cross post for more stuff , but I’m sure there could be a way for the system to know that the title and url are the same - so only show one , or auto-merge the comments and prioritise posting your comment to your local community instance’s post Edit - I might try install an instance on my website and try to make a merge function ~
Ah yes, I think I heard of it ages ago; though it’s based on chromium so add blocking may stop working in 6-12 months,
Death by snoo snoo
And on android, Firefox is the only browser that allows installing ublock-origin and user scripts
Reddit -> subreddit > sub
Beehaw -> hive ✨
It’s probably only 500-1k hours, but Minecraft; on PC, Xbox, switch, android phone, iPad with Xbox controller, solo, modded , the main bulk on Nintendo switch with friends or internet strangers (getting new updates to the nether was really fun to explore but haven’t played a whole heap recently) [ I was born in 1988]
May be too much programming but inviting pre vetted friends as auto accept referral codes may have been good / quick
