Every community should understand this. I think we do a pretty good job here, but there are a number of other communities that don’t.

    The paradox of tolerance is a good portion of the reasoning for this instance to exist, but we aren’t just talking about the gradual shift to intolerance here. Here, the framing is based around nice people not sticking around at places that aren’t nice - while tolerance comes to play here, even tolerant but judgemental behavior may need conversations or actions to be taken depending on how events play out.

    Ultimately we strive to be higher touch than most moderation because people feel better when they’re included in the conversation and we want to promote a nice environment which can be tricky when people disagree.
