    i feel like if you asked me growing up i would say im closer to the neurotypical side, now that im grown i realize im much closer to the autistic side.

      I wouldn’t say I’m really closer. I hated being autistic for a long time, but I’m actually a bit happy about it now. I can understand social cues better while still seeing the world differently. I think I wasn’t close with my NT side, but I also ran from my autism. Once I got closer with my NT side, I realized being “normal” wasn’t my issue.

          It doesn’t work that way. No living being on earth can ignore human society. From the deepest trenches to the highest peaks, we’ve tainted it all. We can’t ignore it. Making it better is the only option, and we’re lucky to have even a fraction of a say.

            I’ll give it a go. It’ll be good practice for when I am dead, and then I can really ignore in style.
