Posts here should contain the letters R U L E in the title, in this order, with no letters in between. This used to be mandatory in r/196 but moderation tools on Lemmy don’t allow for this yet. It’s the result of the 196 culture “I posted because of the rule”.
I thought the only rule was that you had to post, not anything about the title. Having rule in the title just became a stylized tradition, since it’s the lowest effort title (besides “title”) and the posters were forced to post something, even if it’s low effort. Now users would probably downvote anything that doesn’t have “rule” in the title somewhere but I dunno if mods would ban for it or not. would be pretty cringe tbh
There were so many variations to them, I doubt it was mandatory. It could be that at some point people started to write (I post it because of sub’s only) rule in the title while dropping random memes, then just rule, and it became a trend.
What’s the (ul)?

See the last page at https://old.reddit.com/r/196/ There are posts without some of these letters.
You are right. Thanks!
