The working features should allow to use the device in most common use cases. A phone for example would typically have calls, SMS, mobile data, Wi-Fi, audio, battery charging, Bluetooth and camera.

What’s the battery life like these days?
That seems like it’d be one of my main blockers, if it can’t last a day with low use.

when I was running my Oneplus 6T with a heavily degraded battery on pmOS, I got days of standby out of it, while Android couldn’t last 12 hours. in both cases I ran it without modem/cell connectivity, just wifi. degoogled android, no microG no nothing. still, no way it could do sunrise to sundown.

on pmOS, when I press the power button, the thing went into standby. didn’t do shit in the background nobody asked it to, didn’t sync to no clown, nothing. for me that was perfect. your use case might be different.

the batteries aren’t replaceable – their age alone can diminish battery performance.

I’ve yet to drive down a battery to 25% capacity, but I recall seeing drain on linux phones being like 4x what aosp gets.
And for batteries I have hope of phone repairs.

And then add to that, that more drain means more charge cycles means faster degradation too.
